You know you're nuts when you think Ty Law is the answer to a defense that is 10th in the league in passing yards given up with their shut down corner being injured for the majority of the season. Not to mention we have nothing but youth back there. You want to disrupt that by bringing in Law who no other team in the league felt deserved a roster spot other than the Jets?

You're really good at keeping things in perspective...
Ever take into consideration the things that took place this year, other than the roster changes? Like... injuries? Maybe one in particular - Tony Romo? You treat 2007 and 2008 as if all other things were being held constant, aside from the roster changes we made. Get a clue.
Seriously. Your claims and your "backup" for them are laughable.

If the Jets who are on the cusp of first place in the AFC think bringing Law in can help them down the stretch, then so be it. Who are we, mere Wildcard Contenders, to question them. Besides, seems the AFC East is starting to make a habit of bringing in older vets and finding gold again. Maybe other teams should start exploring this concept more. In fact we've done pretty well in this area ourselves. Law wasn't for here, but we certainly can't judge- nor should we. Actually the last time we judged the Jets, they got a QB who has now taken them to 6-3.

JETS SIGN TY LAW
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 10, 2008, 6:07 p.m.
Just in time for Thursday night’s Jets-Patriots clash, a player familiar to both teams has returned to the NFL.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that free-agent cornerback Ty Law reached agreement on a one-year contract with the Jets today and is expected to play Thursday night against the Patriots.
“This is going to be different playing Thursday night against the Patriots, matching up against my former team and the players I’m used to practicing against,” Law told Schefter. “I know they’re going to throw at me, but I welcome the challenge – bring it. I got the tricks for you.”
Per Schefter, Law will play some cornerback and some safety. Having played for Jets coach Eric Mangini before, it shouldn’t take him long to get acclimated.
Law played for the Patriots from 1995 to 2004. He then spent 2005 with the Jets, and 2006 and 2007 with the Chiefs. Although he started every game from 2005 to 2007, he has been out of the NFL since the end of the 2007 season.
I'm a HUGE UM fan but even the homer in me tells me that Law is old and washed up.

You mean Adam from the NFL network broke it, ESPN reported it, and then you copied it over here and claimed it as news you were breaking. You're a fraud.
Law now on Jets' sideBY ERIK BOLAND | erik.boland@newsday.com

The Jets signed longtime Eric Mangini favorite Ty Law late yesterday afternoon to a one-year deal and the cornerback is expected to be in uniform for Thursday night's game against the Patriots.
The story was first reported by the NFL Network.
The team would not confirm the signing last night, though Law essentially did.
"This is going to be different playing Thursday night against the Patriots, matching up against my former team and the players I'm used to practicing against," Law told the NFL Network. He also considered signing with the Patriots. "I know they're going to throw at me, but I welcome the challenge - bring it. I got the tricks for you."
Glauber's NFL Blog Mangini coached Law in New England, where Law spent most of his career, from 1995-2004. Law, 34, played for the Jets in 2005 and spent two nondescript seasons, 2006 and '07, with the Chiefs. Law, who could also see some time at safety, and Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis are both from Aliquippa, Pa.

Jets sign five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Ty Law

Ty Law (l.) gets a return stint with the Jets and another meeting with the team on which he made his name.
In a move that reeks of desperation, the Jets reached into their past - and the Patriots' past - by agreeing to a one-year contract Monday night with former Pro Bowl cornerback Ty Law, his agent confirmed.
Just in time for the Jets-Patriots showdown Thursday night in Foxborough, where the two rivals will battle for first place in the AFC East. Law, 34, in an interview with NFL.com, said he expects to play in the game at cornerback and perhaps safety.
Law picked the Jets over a handful of other teams, including the Patriots, according to his agent, Carl Poston.
The move smacks of typical Jets-Patriots gamesmanship, although Law is four years removed from New England, so it's unlikely the Jets would gain any strategic advantage.
"Ty was of the mind-set that he wanted to go to a contender, a team with a shot at the playoffs," Poston told the Daily News. "The Jets offered the best situation for him."
The two sides had been talking since the summer, said Poston, adding that things heated up about two weeks ago. Law's interest in the Jets piqued when the team traded for Brett Favre in August, according to Poston.
Law, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, played with the Patriots from 1995 to 2004. He signed a lucrative contract with the Jets and made the Pro Bowl in his only season, recording 10 interceptions. He became a salary-cap casualty, one of the first players released by Eric Mangini, who wanted to rebuild with youth.
Some within the organization felt Law was a prima donna and a bad influence on the young players. Mangini knows Law from their years together in New England, and the coach evidently is deeply concerned about his cornerback situation.
That explains the Jets' interest last week in free agent DeAngelo Hall, who wound up signing with the Redskins.
The Jets haven't found a consistent player to start opposite Darrelle Revis, who happens to be a close friend of Law. They're both from Aliquippa, Pa., where Revis grew up idolizing Law. Mangini apparently has lost confidence in rookie Dwight Lowery and nickel back Drew Coleman. Curiously, Justin Miller, once projected as a starter, is rotting on the bench.
"This is going to be different, playing Thursday night against the Patriots, matching up against my former team and the players I'm used to practicing against," Law told NFL.com.
"I know what they're going to throw at me, but I welcome the challenge. Bring it. I've got tricks for you."
Law's physical condition will be a major issue. He hasn't played since last season, when he finished up a two-year run with the Chiefs.
He's never been known as a workout warrior in the offseason, although Poston claimed that Law was "in top shape and ready to go."
With Law, the Jets added to their collection of aging players with impressive resumes.
With Law, Favre and guard Alan Faneca, they have three Hall-of-Fame-type players.
Write to any DFW media member and ask if we were interested in Law in 2004 as he claims. They will tell you no.
I have a better source than that and I asked if there was any truth to it. He said, "not one bit."
Bill Parcells does not talk to the media - :lmao2:
He actively was talking to acquire Ty Law pre 2004 draft. Hindsight it was clearly a mistake to not have made deal.
Get your popcorn ready Ty Law is back with Reveis! JETS JETS JETS

A reader points out an extremely bizarre statement from new Jets cornerback Ty Law regarding the fact that his first game will come against the New England Patriots (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#).
“This is going to be different playing Thursday night against the Patriots, matching up against my former team and the players I’m used to practicing against (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jy9pYeqohjpU2w3yzn9G6jZb7dEAD94CEIUG1),” Law said Monday.
Um, Law last played for the Pats in 2004. The receivers against whom he practiced are all gone. Long gone. As in, “Not a single one of them is still on the team.”
So someone should tell Law when he sees Randy Moss and Wes Welker and Jabar Gaffney and Kelley Washington that none of them are Deion Branch or David Patten or David Givens or Troy Brown.

Broke it - brang it as advertised :)
Again, you hack, you didn't break anything. You copied someone elses story who broke it LONG before you did but tried to come in here and claim it as you breaking some inside story from your sources.
Unless you're counting NFLnetwork or ESPN as your 'inside' sources, in which case you've only shown how much more pathetic your claims are.
I was right there with this breaking story.
See all the posters doubting it and saying it aint so last night. :winkie:
Nice pickup by Jets.
