Although things seem to be in dire straits for the country right now, I am grateful for the blessings that this nation has had and will have in the future. Things will eventually turn around, and this nation will prosper in the long run. I believe that nothing is impossible to overcome as long as the People continue to believe in the great cause of individual liberty and freedom that this nation provides.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!

I feel thankful and lucky to live in a country like this. We may go through bad times but we always manage to bounce back on our feet.

Yes, the sudden feelings of ill-will, contempt, and unpatriotic behaviors by right-wingnuts has been noted. I still wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.

Hmmm. Who, for eight years, told us that dissent is patriotic? Hmmm.

BTW, how's your "sudden" appreciation for the troops going?

For the last three weeks, it's been going great. Thanks for asking. And best wishes to you and yours.

Don't think your cute little capital "P" 'people' slipped by unnoticed. That's no accident either.

Do you mean P as in Paranoid, or P as in Palin?

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family...:shades:

No, People as in the suprimacy of the state, which Communists pass off as "the People". Individual people are spelled "people". The People's Republic of Such-and-Such uses "People". Read the Communist Manifesto, et al. You probably already have.

I am very grateful for the fact that I have my health and a very decent standard of living with which I am very happy. I don't worry about being too hot, too cold, or where my next meal is coming from.

If you think about it, there is a too-small percentage of people in the world that can say that.

How about We the People, as in our Constitution?

I think you really should check out some bossa nova and poor yourself a stiff one.

If you read past the first couple of words, you'll see they capitalized pretty much every other word in the document. To selectively capitalize only the "p" in people is another matter entirely. And you are clearly aware of this fact. Drop the facade.

I would not be the first person in this country to use the word People as a reference to all American citizens. Some trip you are on...

No...the Socialist party did that too, as did the Communist Party USA. Furthermore, you went even further in another post referring to the US population (in regards to Obama) as "his People". You might as well have said "his collective subjects".

If the phrase "..he knows what is best for his People" doesn't send shivers down your spine...but rather a tingle up your leg...then we are screwed. I'm afraid that there are far too many "People" now who shrug as you do and say "what's the big deal". Sorry, I know my history, and that includes the history of totalitarianism and the worldview that drives it.

::shrugs::

What's the big deal?

Seriously. Commentary by a poster on the political forum is hardly a reason to start worrying about a totalitarian takeover.

..by a single person...I agree. But if it turns out they are legion, then it's another matter entirely.

I'm extremely excited and grateful this year about Thanksgiving... My lil girl will be home for a couple of days... I CAN'T WAIT!! I haven't gotten to spend any real time with her in years... I'm picking her up tomorrow

I'm grateful that I will get to have both my children sitting at the Thanksgiving table this year...

This may not be politically correct but.... Thank you God

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE. Hope y'all have as wonderful a day as I am going to have

I'm hoping this is sarcasm.

Back on topic, I am greatful to see another Thanksgiving and that everyone in my family that attended last year's Thanksgiving Dinner made it as well.

I turned 30 in August, so it is all downhill from now, so I must cherish every holiday :D .

I have a roof over my head that is paid for, I have a vehicle to drive that is paid for, I have a great wife who is paid for (oops wait strike the paid for part), and I am not starving.

That in itself is enough to be thankful for because even though I don't have anywhere close to a great home, a great car and the wife has her medical problems...I still have it a heck of a lot better than many in the world or the USA.
