Considering the movement of 20,000 troops into the US...this sounds like something they're preparing for. Many states/cities/communities will be slammed down economically...to the point of food riots perhaps. When the imports stop flowing in, since nobody will accept a dollar as a worthy currency, we'll either make everything ourselves (once again), or we will starve and tear one another apart...

..or...maybe they'll promise a global solution to all the potential misery. Perhaps a bailout of the US by various world governments and sovereign wealth funds (ahem..China). Remember...signing the "dotted line" to get stuff now with a promise of our labor later has gotten in trouble in the first place. It will be an international debt-consolidation plan. All your $ goes to them, they let you keep a snippet after they decide how your bills will be paid. They will claim you've already demonstrated an inability to pay voluntarily...

That may be much closer to the truth than most here realize. NYC is firing 1000 policemen and hiring 200 meter maids to raise revenue. The are cutting major portions of their "public transportation" down to save money. Such as closing the subways.

Perhaps they could auction off the letters of HOLLYWOOD on ebay.
