ALBANY, N.Y. — The star of The Nanny wants to go from playing nasally New Yawkers to succeeding Hillary Rodham Clinton in the U.S. Senate.

Publicist Jordan Brown delivered the straight line that Fran Drescher is serious about becoming the next junior senator from New York. Brown cited Drescher’s experience as an actress, advocate for women’s health and public diplomacy envoy for the U.S. State Department.

The 51-year-old Saturday Night Fever and This is Spinal Tap actress joins a field headed by Caroline Kennedy and New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. New York Gov. David Paterson will appoint Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s successor if she is confirmed secretary of state in the Obama administration.

A filibuster attempt by her would be pure torture. How could a woman that attractive have a voice that annoying?

Why not? We don't need to have any real experience to be elected President as this past election showed, why not Senator. I mean if Franken can come that close to getting elected, why not her?

I would bet she gets serious consideration.

That would be the big issue. Perhaps just the threat of a filibuster by her would be enough to prevent any gridlock in Congress.

Except he had a Kennedy connection, though he is a Republican, you almost can't avoid it being that close to that family. :laugh1:

Well if the republicans did not screw it up so much...they would not even have any competition.

Really? You mean there would not have been a bitter election?

Remember, the democrats are involved.

I know, I know. But the Republicans.

(Saved you the time.)

You can twist it all you want, but the simple fact is, if the republicans have not screwed up so much, they would have no competition for the likes of Franken and some others.

The voice and laugh are fake... part of her shtick...

She does have an accent but her real voice is not near as nasally...

You are corerect. If you are a liberal, you are in. It does not matter you have no idea what your doing. All you need is the Big (L)iberal next to your name and you are golden. As long as you promise to take money from those that earn it and give to those who have not, your'e in.

Well Joe that seems pretty right on the MONEY to me. What else do liberals do but promise to give away other peoples money that does not belong to them?

What a mockery of the political system 2008 has been.

Bail outs, incompetence, celebrity nimrod candidates, unqualified presidential contenders of various stripes, unaccountable to their pasts, scandal after scandal, corruption, cronyism, socialism, race baiting, resignations, prostitute rings, state bankruptcy, churches have been attacked, failure by homosexual communities to honor the vote.

I say God bless America and others say God damn America. That is the fundamental difference. The 10 Commandments are not a bad list to use to live your life by, if you are religious or not. I wish our leaders had a moral code they lived and worked by.

She does have an accent but her real voice is not near as nasally...

She was doing the voice Long before her show though. She had that voice in Hollywood Knights and to a lesser extent in Saturday Night Fever.

I can not stand to listen to her. My wife would watch that show of hers and I just had to go to the other room to get away from the voice.:laugh1:
