A hard hiiting ball hawk! Someone who can make big hits and someone who can play center field. Where is this guy? Who is he? We need him. Hamlin and Henry are not the answer.

Johnson plays for Alabama. He's probably projected solidly in the 2nd round at this point, but could rise depending on how he does in the offseason and which underclassmen ranked above him come out.

Last I checked he was projecting 4th round although his stock my later rise to the 2nd he should definitely be within our range to get.

Louis Delmas FS Western Michigan 6'0"/196 4.5

Has started every game of all 4 years. Might be worth a look in the 3rd or 4th round.

I'm with you on this one Chris....Delmas is a hard-hitting playmaker with a great attitude...Lord knows we need more of that on the Cowboys.

Its going to be hard to find a safety that can do it all. Come up in the box and make the hit and be a ball hawk. It would be amazing to get a duo, a big hitter and a ball hawk. Thats why i didnt understand bringing hamlin in, he played good last year but we had two big hitters in roy and hamlin; no ball hawkers. Well now we know roy is a shell of himself and it seems like Hamlin is the same. SAFETY IS A MUST THOUGH.

I watch alot of Big Ten football. Otis Wiley of Michigan St. would be a good pick in my opinion. Then again im not a draft expert, but he would be a good fit I think.

I would like to throw Wake Forest S Chip Vaughn into the mix

was a FS in '07 and defensed 14 passes, along with making 105 tackles

SS in '08 and still defensed 6 passes, along with 87 tackles

the most INTs he's had in a season is only 2, however, this year

Vaughn is a big, fast safety, who's good in the box and in coverage

Does everyone think Hamlin can be an effective SS???

If so, I would lov to see a guy like Delmas in a Cowboy uni, otherwise I think a strong safety like Chung or Chip Vaughn.

I am on the bandwagon for safety with the first pick, I see us getting an impact Safety(Houston, Philadelphia ahead of us with needs at Safety) with #51, Taylor Mays will go as the first Safety, Will Moore as the 2nd, then it will be us choosing the third best safety in the draft which could be the Johnson kid from Alabama(not a big kid but lots of similarity to Ed Reed in smarts). He will rise like Dominque Cromartie did last year. Would love to see Taylor Mays but he is the cream of this years draft, much like Calvin Johnson from two years ago. Lots of talk of us looking at the Chung kid from Oregon, I have not seen him play so just tossing his name out there to fill in some more details. We are in a good position taking Safety first as we are not competing with that many teams in the early rounds.
I am having a hard time figuring out where we go next with our next pick DT/OL/LB or QB, this what makes this time of year so much fun.
