I had mentioned before that I was volunteering for this show on a home here in Tucson. I found out earlier tonight that I was not chosen, so I won't be going. They are demolishing the home tonight I guess. In fact in about 10 minutes.
The little girl, Lizzie Bell, who is being helped has a very rare blood disorder. They are apparently going to make a house that is safe for her.
I may still go down there with my pouch and belt and hammer and see if they need a framer. I'll have my Cowboys hard hat with me. They got over 3500 volunteer applications.
I wish I had been chosen, but those are the breaks.

Good on you for giving it a shot.
Any Habitat for Humanity projects going down in Tucson these days?

They just did the news of the tear down of the house. It was actually a nice looking home. But it has termites and mold problems and the little girl has a rare blood disorder.
I'm kind of bummed that I wasn't chosen. I'd really like to assist.

its kind of hard to believe they would turn you around and give you the boot if you showed up, esp seeing as how you have experience

You should have used your real name not Hostile on the app. ;)

Fine, but the mirrored ceilings are non-negotiable.
