Good thing we got the long range missiles out of Iraq. Now we can focus our attention on North Korea.

Sure hope the cuts coming in defense don't include strategic missile defense.

I'd rather stay out of Korea.

Has someone in North Korea ever thought about slipping something in this nuts drink? People are living in hell over there. Anyone have any balls?

Actually, somebody may have. Kim Jong I'm-feelin-kinda-Il has apparently had a stroke or series of strokes. That may seem like a good thing at first blush, but the last thing we need in NK is a power vacuum followed by a power struggle. Rumor has it Kim FINALLY appointed a successor, one of his sons (go figure) - for the longest time it was Kim....and that's it. If he'd died suddenly, there was no structure in place for an orderly transfer of power, dictatorship or not.

I hear he's a big drinker so that's probably what did it. Can we get anyone worse if he were to finally die? I doubt it. Also, didn't they do some nuclear test and it failed miserably?

It *could* get worse...if a struggle for power results in a spill-over of violence into South Korea. And South Korea's already getting nervous, what with the North declaring the South hostile and pulling out of long-standing (but of dubious value anyway) agreements. The North also insists that it will redraw their maritime border further to the south, South Korea be damned. What it looks like to me is that they are attempting to provoke an "incident"...for what purpose is anybody's guess...

If the North Korean launcher is anything like our current quarterback, he won't be hitting any continents.
