Amazing video of an attempted home invasion in Tucson. Investigators say the victim fought back by shooting at a group of armed men trying to break into his house. This all happened Thursday afternoon near Cardinal and Irvington on the southwest side.

The is video from a surveillance system overlooking the driveway of the victim's home. It shows the suspects pull up in a car and jump out. One of the would-be home invaders fires a shot as he runs into the garage. Within seconds several more shots ring out. Investigators say those came from the man inside the home.

In the video you can see shards of glass fly as bullets hit the front windshield. Two cameras caught the crime on tape. Once the homeowner shot back the suspects scattered. Three ran away on foot and the fourth jumped back into the car and sped away.

A neighbor, who didn't want to show his face heard the gunshots and heard the getaway car speed past his home, "this is new to me. I've been here 23 years and you see it on TV and you feel sorry but now you're living with it and you just got to deal with it."

As for the suspects, they all got away but police did find the getaway car a short while later. That lead them to 23 year old Mendivil. He remains on the loose but investigators say he was shot in the arm during the shootout. If you know where he is or if you recognize any of the men from the video call 911 or 88-CRIME.

That's a whacked out story. First I have heard of it to tell you the truth. I wonder if the car was stolen? Happens a lot here. They use stolen cars to commit crimes then abandon them. This definitely looks gang or drug related to me. If you are simply there to rob someone you don't run in firing, and he obviously had a handgun close at hand and the surveillance cameras aren't exactly common. The one guy who ran in had an assault rifle.

The top video on this site shows a better look at the rifle and some of the shooters. The guy in white loses his cap as he runs away. Can you say DNA?

The 2nd video shows them nearly driving by them pulling in and the guy in white running the opposite direction of the other 2 on foot and the car.
