he grew up in a different era
one that allowed him to work up 700k in life savings
it's hard to ask for handouts when you work 40-50 years of your life w/o asking for any

That is so sad and at the same time, inspiring. If I had the money I would send him some. He's earned his retirement and it just isn't fair that he has to go back to work at 90 cuz he was taken advantage of.

We need to educate our boys in character so they become men like him.

Let's hope our boys don't have to be like him and lose everything. I know what you are saying but let's hope they don't ever have to use character like he has to right now.

They truely were the Greatest Generation.
We are so affraid of a little discomfort, a little hardship that we won't step up and make a hard decision with our Economy. We won't bit hard and swallow to let this thing hit bottom so we can come back up. Instead, we barrow and spend what we don't have to stall it off as long as we can. Doesn't matter that our kids and their kids have to pay it off. Just so long as we don't have to face hard times.
Makes me sad to think that we are not half the men and women they were.

. Instead, we barrow and spend.
is that like putting money in a wheel-barrow and wheeling it around? ;)
but yes, they truly were the greatest generation, it's amazing how far this country has come from the Protestant Work Ethic, most people don't mind sitting on their *** looking for a hand-out from the government
