If the Chargers take him?
If the Chargers take him?
I doubt it, I really do. It'd be a terrible career move for a young man trying to make his way in this league.
While San Diego may not be his ideal choice, I really don't see why it's so bad to where it's worth sitting out over. You have one of the league's most quarterback friendly players in LaDainian Tomlinson. Who wouldn't love playing with him in the backfield? While the coaching staff may not be to Eli's liking, given the recent performances of the Chargers, it stands to reason Schottenheimer won't be there much longer to begin with.
Not to mention there's far less media-generated pressure in San Diego than in New York.
I just don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Man oh man...the Chargers can't catch a break with these QB's...
If I'm the Chargers, I'd simply trade the pick and be done with it....why take the chance?
They are still gunshy after the Ryan Leaf debacle..that's why they traded their pick rather than selecting Michael Vick...
Trading this year's pick is a "win win" in their eyes...
Now if they'd only lower the asking price...although Eli didn't help them too much by saying he didn't want to play for them.
ah, you HAVE to love the intrigue of draft day... :p

If the Chargers take him?
I just think it'd be hilarious if punk boy sits out all yr, then the Chargers end up with the #1 pick again next yr
I hope Manning gets booed off the stage today, seeing a rotten tomato upside his face by somebody would make my day

I don't think he would Jeopardize his "image" already without even playing a down. He does have the money to sit out, but i highly doubt it. Besides, who wouldn't want to live near the beach.

The amount of pressure on any rookie is immense and the quarterback is worse. He has now added to that. If he plays or sits out an already difficult task just got worse. The NFL channel had terrell Davis interview him and Winslow. Winslow is as bad or worse than Manning. His dad had agents pay $2500 for the right to sell themselves to be his agent. They ended up slelcting an agent (postis?) that almost always has their clients hold out well into the seson. You can't blame these guys for trying to get the best situation they can but it's all kind of turned my stomach.

If he does, I will have lost whatever respect I have left for him. He and his daddy are being babies.
If the Chargers take him?
I think he is just threatening them...

I do not want to hear one good word about John Elway from you
Elwat pulled it off 1st yet he gets all types of praises still and It was not Manning that put it out in the press.
It was a young GM doing his 1st draft that said he would not lie about the draft to the media.
It is the young gm's fault; he opened his mouth and f'ed it up instead of just keeping his mouth shut.
This goes on probaly more than we think with the 1st pick and we just do not hear about it.
Get over your selfs here if I was a dad and I thought that it was going to be a bad place for my son I do it.
I have kids and would do anything with in reason to do what is in their best intrest and the Mannings tried to keep it on the low so San Deigo could get a fair trade and after they made the trade they could have came out with it and everyone would had said sweet move.

I doubt Eli would hold out the entire season. I don't expect him to take the stage if SD drafts him though, the crowd would rip him a new one.
I think Eli should just tell his old man to sit down and shut the h*** up.......
All Archie has done is bring alot of negative attention to his kid.
Where was daddy when the Colts called Peytons number?!?!
They were a TERRIBLE team then.....

Archie was asked by the league to sit down with the Chargers it was not all his own doing so this is not all on Archie
This is similar to the TO fiasco Talgidork gets involved some how or his office and things get stupid
Both camps said they would not play in the city that held the #1 pick. At the time of the Elway trade, Acorsi & Elway's dad were talking contract, so Elway was going to be a Colt QB if it wasn't for the Irsay's.
BTW, classless move by the Mannings. I guess we will see who is stronger in their beliefs.

I agree, it hurts the sense that a team can always be competitive.

I cant believe you would say Winslow at this point is worse than Manning. Thats unbelieveable.
