You say that like it is a bad thing.

He was a star with a name most people at least heard of in the WWE. He knew his health wouldn't hold out forever and decided to try movies. After several movies, he is now pretty stereotyped into a certain role. So he decides to branch out and reinvent himself and accept a role one in a movie that of the most respected names in the movie industry (Disney) has offered.

Sounds more like the American dream to me.

I think both Cajun and I would agree that we've never agreed on anything before, but................ he's right.

He was an actor in the ring, and now he's an actor on the big screen. Good for him. Cash in when you can, cause chances are 10 years from now, you won't even remember the guy.

I'd hardly call that a "sellout".

If that is true, he has LOTS of company.

These are probably the only films he gets offered to act in.

He's got a young daughter so maybe he's just making movies she can see him in.

So your point he is making a living; people are just petty and jealous at times.

See your problem is you are calling him a sellout; when your real beef is you think he is a bad actor.

Fine if you think he is a bad actor say that do not come out calling the guy a sellout and stuff because you are jealous he is making big money to be a bad actor.

If it where a crime for being a bad actor we never would have had to deal with seeing guys like Ben Aflek.

Whoa, calm down. I didn't say anything about him being a sellout. I'm sure he would rather act in more "serious" films but just doesn't get the opportunity.

Sorry did not mean to infer you I was meaning the original poster on that part.

I was trying to reply to both things (that's on me sorry):)

I thought he was hilarious in that Travolta movie. Can't think of the name, but it was the sequel to Get Shorty.

He wasn't bad in the Gridiron Gang either.

Oh well. Can't wait for the next thread by Bob posting he hates something.

but the best response in this thread is that I'm jealous of Dwayne Johnson, lol

If a guy who moves from WWF to Disney is a sell out, what is the guy who moves from Disney to WWF?

Does not sound like a stretch at really. He has been on a trend to play in movies with (what he considers to be) a positive message for some time now. Now, I'm not going to say the movies were good, but his goals seemed fairly clear.

Never was a big "wrastlin" fan myself, but if the guy is doing what he wants to do in life, then power to him.

My oldest is five, so I will probably see more of the Rock now then I ever did before.

Comical. WWF is more acting than acting itself.

Johnson seems to be following Arnold Schwarzenegger's lead. I think Johnson will have a very fulfilling career. He's a very likable guy.

WWF has gone stupid since he left.

There's not one entertainer with his appeal on their roster.

I've tried to get back into it, but it just doesn't have it anymore.

Those were the golden years for rasslin'. WCW - Goldberg, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, DDP, Raven, Disco Inferno, etc. WWE - The Rock, Stone Cold, HHH, Undertaker, Big Show, DX, Road Dogg/Bad *** Billy Gunn, The Godfather, Val Venis, Y2J, etc.

Wrestling has gone away from what worked for them.

I use to look forward to the segments where Ultimate Warrior would growl a bunch of jibberish, or Hogan would talk with "Mean Gene". Brutus the barber beefcake had his own segment, as did Paul Bear.

The story line has went to hell in a hand basket. None of these new generation guys are believable, with the exception of The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and HHH. Pretty much every other wrestler out there is all muscle and no moxie.

Side note, I stopped watching wrestling regularly after the nWo went away. The real nWo, not the one that Vince McMahon ruined, although Hogan, Hall, and Nash would have been great for the WWE. I think if given time, Eric Bishoff could have made the nWo re-surge in the WWE.

I didn't think he was all that bad in The Rundown. I haven't seen any of his other movies but I thought he was alright in The Rundown. I did see Be Cool and he didn't suck it up in that either.

When I think sellout, I think more along the lines of Vin Diesel. Maybe its because he turned down the opportunity to make XXX2 so he could work on the The Pacifier.

While XXX sucked and I liked The Pacifier. XXX was a bad James Bond wannabe movie I do not blame him for turning down a sequel

In fact I would say Van diesel best performance was Pitch Black

Pitch Black and Fast and the Furious are his only decent films. I think he could be good in the right role but It hasn't come yet.

He should have taken the sequel. He had a franchise opp there. Anyways.

His best performance IMO was Boiler Room. Check it out. Good movie based on a true events.
