NFL Headcoach 09 & D.Ware

Have any of you guys played this game? It's a great game that lets you become the Headcoach/GM of any NFL Team. It's come time to sign DeMarcus Ware AGAIN! Last yr he wanted $33-37 Million w/ a signing bonus of between $15-17 Million. I did everything I could to get that cap space, traded T.O. (Kansas City), Crayton (Eagles) & released Marcus Spears, but I still didn't have enough to sign him and my 13 Draft picks.

So I franchised him and lawd why did I do that. Now he's asking for $55-$62 million w/ a signing bonus of $20+.

My options are:
- Franchising him again.
- Trading him to the Giants, Eagles, Steelers or Kanasas City, all of whom are offering 2nd Rd picks, but not enough in my book.
- My GM suggested releasing Newman and getting hit w/ a $12 Million Cap Penalty. Which is stupid even though he's always HURT!
- Releasing Witten, Felix & Koiser. That move would cost $6 million, but I'll gain $13 million in cap space.

Thanks to Jerry handing out $15 million bonus, I can't really release anyone else. I have about $6 million dollars under the cap for the next 2 seasons. What should I do?

Release the entire team then sign him and then sign garbage for the league minimum until Ware retires. :laugh2:

It was the entire contract value. But his personality on this game is nowhere near where it is in real life. He wouldn't accept any of the deals. Then he came back in the offseason and wanted more.

LOL I'm thinking about it. Although compared to the deal ATL just gave Haynesworth 7yr $100 million w/ 2 Incentives w/ $3 million each, I'm getting Ware for cheap.

I was tempted to grab this off the PSN store...sounds like a headache though :-p. I say you have too much picks, try to trade them for higher picks (give them a good deal because you can't afford to sign them all).

I say pick it up. It's a lot of fun come draft time. It's restrictions on draft picks, I can't just select one of my draft picks and then trade for another teams str8 up. The Cowboys back loaded a lot of the big contracts (Newman, Romo, Gurode, Barber, Adams, Davis & Williams) so now it's jacking up my system. I went from having $20 million in cap space to $7 w/out signing anyone.

how much better is it than the 1st HC game?

I'm not sure, but I was reading the reviews on the Ea & Gamestop forums and folks that played the 1st game says it's 10x better. I got it w/ the 20 anniversary of Madden and was really surprised at how detailed and deep the game was. I've completely stopped playing Madden.

I installed it last month to give it another chance and uninstalled a couple of days later. The only thing I liked about it was firing Zimmer and DeHaven. :laugh2:

He was cut my first yr of operating the team. I'm currently trying to dump all of the injury prone players. Newman, Felix, Ratliff & Biggs. It doesn't help that 3 out of the 4 have huge bonuses that will destroy the cap.

Na it's really not. You just have to manage your cap, draft well and make sure you have a good gameplan going into the games. Kinda like the real league. It's a lot of fun, but one or two wrong moves and your team will suffer. Currently I'm in my 3rd season and I got Wade to his 100th win and I've won the Championship once.

Felix is nicked up monthly. 2-3 days here and 3-6 days there. My first season he was placed on IR.

Newman tore his ACL last yr and missed Dec & our play off run. Now his right leg is at 56% and dropping.

Rat hasn't been hurt yet, but I constantly have to make him inactive to preserve his right leg for game day. His leg at 37% right now.

Bigg's overall health is good @ 80%, but his legs are in the high 50s.

- Edit: Flo is hurting as well, but I refuse to get rid of him, so I keep him out of practice weekly to preserve those legs.

And you're going to want to get rid of him and that contract. Yeah Tony threw for 4800 yrds that season, it wasn't worth it. I still got my behind handed to me by the Giants in the Playoffs.

LOL I tried that with a similar player who's overall was in the 70s... Worked fine. Saved the game and then tried it with Ware who is 93 currently and it failed. lol You can only change him within MLB/OLB/DE and he's good in at all the positions. Then when I went to go sign him out of FA, he wasn't there, which means in Headcoach 09 that you will have to bid on him along with any of other teams that want his services. I said forget it and quit the game and loaded my saved copy back up.
