What are a couple of canceled shows you would like to see back on the air.

For me, I really enjoyed watching 'Jericho' and 'Firefly'. I thought they were really good shows that were canceled prematurely. There has been talk of bringing back 'Jericho' for the last year but nothing has come of it yet.

What say you?

I never had HBO so i never followed that show but i have seen one or two episodes and it seemed like a good show. Westerns are also my favorite genres of movies so i'm sure i would have enjoyed it.

BTW Yeager, how long was that show on the air?

I believe two seasons. After HBO canceled it they were supposed to make 2 two hour movies to complete the story lines but they never made them.

I think i will see if i can find it online and watch all the episodes. TV shows don't often translate well into full length movies. Still it might be worth the look. They did make a movie out of 'Firefly' called 'Serenity', it was decent enough but i had really enjoyed the TV show but it only lasted 14 or 15 episodes.

Jericho I'm glad was canceled. It was a late night soap opera. The 2nd season was a lot better though, I'll give it that.

Firefly is possibly my favorite TV series ever and I didn't watch it until the DVD.

Others I wish hadn't been canceled are Journeyman and Dead Like Me, as well as several Andy Richter shows on Fox. There's a few others that I would have liked to see stay, but I can't say for sure they'd be good, but they had potential.

I would have to disagree on this one, I thought it a great story line and they were really starting to develop the story before it got canceled.

One of the greatest comedies ever. SO underappreciated.

2010 the movie comes out and I cant wait.

My all time favorite show is 21 Jumpstreet and Back when it went off the air I remember being all ticked off!! It was the first show I ever really watched every week and then it went off the air, even though the last season and a half most of the cast changed.

Hopefully I wont be adding chuck to this list in a couple of weeks.

There are tons of shows that I liked that never made it. Too long to list.

I must have bad taste!

I was pretty young when it was on air too. I don't really even remember that much of it other than that I loved it way back when.

I've been using Netflix for about 6 months now, and have found it to be an invaluable source for finding old TV shows. They don't have this one as a direct stream yet, but I'm thinking about putting the DVD's on my queue list.

The 80's had some truly memorable shows for me.

Thats exactly my thoughts. I was a kid for most of those shows. But from about 86 on I watched some stuff on tv.

Remote control was awesome, it used to come on right after mtv's 1/2 hour metal hour!

I didnt watch the nighttime dramas like dynasty and hill street blues, my parents did though.

I am guilty of watching 90210 from day one because of my sister and then in this generation watching the o.c.!

Oh and I happen to catch alf the other night when I couldnt sleep on wgn at like 2 am. Its the first time I have seen in since i was a kid, pretty funny.

I have a very long memory. That was when I was about 3 years old.

There was an early episode where he made a guest appearance before he joined the cast full time. He was an absolute riot. He played an old character who wasn't really all there, mentally. I remember him asking a black Doctor to dance because it was in his 'blood'. The look on that Doctor's face and the face of Hawkeye and the other Doctor was absolutely hilarious.

I used to watch one...As the World Turns IIRC, for about one year right after my first year of college. It was during my "experimental stage" so to speak, and i usually woke up around 1 o'clock in the afternoon and we only had four channels in the dump that I was living in at the time. :D

I later moved into a house with more channels and I switched to reruns of Law and Order as my wake up TV show.

What happened to good comedies? Man, most of them suck now. Not as bad as the cartoons of this era suck, but they still suck. These shows made me laugh almost every time and some of them still can.

M*A*S*H
The Andy Griffith Show
Barney Miller (One of the most underrated shows ever.)
Cheers
In Living Color
The Carol Burnett Show (Tim Conway & Harvey Korman rule.)
The Cosby Show
The old Dean Martin Roasts
Red Skelton
Laugh In
Taxi
Coach

Every now and then a drama series hooks me. I have always loved cop shows, but I hate some of them too.

The Waltons
Adam 12
Emergency (Squad 51, Engine 51...)
Hill Street Blues
S.W.A.T.
Homicide, Life on the Streets (Aces show.)
Third Watch (I loved this show.)

For a cheesy cop show...Miami Vice.

I really miss quality Westerns.

I am kind of shocked they have not redone a fantasy island. Where they only have a couple of regular actors and the rest are guest stars and the plots can be anything.

Oh man I used to love Barney Miller. Jack Soo and Dietrich kills me. :laugh1:

The episode where Jack Soo ate the pot brownies was classic. :laugh2:

My uncle rock was a roomate with jack soo at one time!

I cant remember if it was in nyc or at colgate university though. I will have to ask my dad.

My dad's favorite all time show was Barney Miller and he always got a kick out of the fact that rocko was a friend of jack soo.

alot of my childhood memories revolve around moments with barney miller on in the background from my dad, or little house on the prairie from my sister!

Its pretty funny, I can remember sitting on the floor in my living room watching NY Yankee games on wpix 11 and my dad would be sitting on the couch waiting for the game to get over because he liked to watch the nyc news and then barney miller reruns!!!!

He would get all upset, "whats taking so long....hurry up and end the game!!!"

I can still remember phil rizzuto and bill white doing promos for barney miller reruns on wpix 11!

It sucks growing up.

Jerricho - Surface - Space: Above and Beyond - Bionic Woman (The most recent one) - New Amsterdam - Threshold - Crusade.

Even though a few have been gone for quite a while, these are all unfinsihed shows I would really like to see picked up somewhere. I would be nice to see a reimagining of the show V as well. Something similar to the new Battlestar Galactica. Like Battlestar, the orginal V is a really good idea for a show. Just a little to "hokie".

Also, even though it did have a conclusion, I've read on line a few places where Farscape may come back. Any Farscape out there anywhere?

That's a pretty good show as well. It's out on DVD so if you like SciFi, it's worth the money. Plus it's cheap. Very good premise. Could have been great if it was completed.

I loved Beavis and Butthead.

Theres an episode where the guys run out of oil for the fry fryer, so they go to an automotive store to buy motor oil.

Mechanic: "That'll be fifteen bucks for the oil"

Butthead: "Uh...No?"

It was really stupid humor, kind of potty/gallows humor but it was funny as all heck to a kid like me. I miss that cartoon above all.

Then there were some Nickelodeon classics...like "Hey Dude", "Salute your Shorts" and the "Ren and Stimpy" show. Grew up on those. "Saved by the Bell" was another one, different network though.

Great show

Al Bundy>>>>>>>> You know another thing that makes women such a blessing for us? It's when you're sitting somewhere and they come over and they say to you, "What are you thinking?" And you start thinking, "You know, if I wanted you to know, I'd be talking." But you can't actually say that to 'em or else they'll kill you. And they're allowed to, see it's that whole period, P.M.S. thing, I don't know, I'm not a doctor, but I think that P.M.S. stands for "Pummels Men's Scrotums." Does your wife buy you juice, Steve?
