We'd have to trade up considerably to select either of those (especially Maclin).

i know, you know one possibility would be for the cowboys to package greg ellis and possibly crayton or bobby carpenter in a package to move up and possibly still keep your other draft picks, or trade those 3 players and get extra picks to move up.

Probably just meeting with them to build a relationship, should they ever become free agents.

Neither will be Cowboys their rookie seasons.

Gilbert's arguably made himself more money than any prospect in this draft.

My guess is that if either fall beyond pick 25, there's a good chance we are trading up into round 1. We have the ammo to do it.

Seen a lot of 285 pound linebackers, have you??

Gilbert is a pure 3-4 DE...

That would be pretty tough without giving up a high pick next year, too. But man, Maclin could possibly turn out to be the best receiver in this draft. I really don't see him slipping out of the top 10, though. He could potentially go as high as 7 to Oakland. If he lasted to 25, I would think Miami would snatch him up in a heartbeat, based on value alone. Not to mention the fact that they could really use a WR.

There's not a snowballs chance in hell that Maclin drops to 25. If he does I will personally buy Satan a fur coat.

I'm not taking it at all. Neither of them will be in a Cowboy uniform next year..

Sorry DaBoys!!

John Fox and Rex Ryan were at Gilbert's pro day. Tyson Jackson is going in round one, imo. Gilbert may not be far behind.

I wonder how far up he's going to go. I like him, too. He can play all three spots.

I'm starting to think Dallas could draft a center at 51 if they stay there. The board may dictate it. Caldwell is underrated, imo. He's going in the 2-3 round. I still think Andre Gurode is the best offensive linemen on the team and one of the very best centers in the NFL, but the value may just be too good to pass up. It's tough finding really good centers. Gurode, a three time pro bowler, is in his prime. Drafting one of these guys would send Cory Proctor out the door. He got a second round tender. Why not pay second round money to a guy who can actually get the job done? Plus, Caldwell looked good at guard at the Senior Bowl. However, his best position will be center. He's not the 6-3 325 pound guard Dallas likes, but Kosier isn't, either.

Eric Wood
Antione Caldwell

Is Sidbury Jr. really worth a mid-second rounder? Why did he only have 7 1/2 sacks against that competition last year. Plus, he might not be there, anyway. I still like him, though.

I think if Dorell Scott has a great pro day, he's moving into that 2-3 round area. At least, that's what Bunting says. He could be a guy to draft at 51. Alex Magee could move into that range, and Chip Vaugn could, too. Bunting has all three of those guys ranked really close in his top 100.

Edit:

I forgot about Marcus Freeman (OLB Ohio State). He looks like an option at 51.

See ya, Barbie.

I seriously doubt it as well, but stranger things have happened, and if the Cowboys like him, it would be in their best interest to at least see what kind of guy he is in the event he does slide.
