V. Carey, Guard or Tackle?

It seemed the consensus was he will be better suited to play guard, but I watching the NFL channel the other day and Mike Mayock mentioned that it would be a mistake to move him to OG, that he will be better at tackle. He also mentioned that from talking with U of Miami's OL coach, that the coach felt he would be better off playing RT in the NFL as well.

I think he played tackle his junior year then switched over to guard as a senior...they said he had a tougher time with playing guard then tackle...so i say tackle.

Carey scares me. If he was such a great tackle why didn't he stay a tackle at Miami? Seemingly tackle is the more difficult of the positions.

I ask you because I don't know... who was the last guard/tackle "hybrid" ( ;) that's for you Nors!) to perform at a very-high level, as a tackle in the NFL. I mean if someone is going to draft this guy in the first round you should expect someone that could perform (eventually) at a near pro-bowl level. I doubt Carey can.

I believe he moved inside to guard because of injuries and the team needed him there. Some think his size makes him more of a guard than a tackle. Just curious to hear some other opinions.

He is a guard, which is why he is a 2nd rounder....
