just curious about where people here fall on the political spectrum.

Overall this seems somewhat accurate, at least for me

Conservative/Progressive score: 7
You are a social moderate. You think the progressive movement is overall well meaning, but sometimes it goes too far. On issues like abortion and affirmative action, you see the negatives of both extremes on the issue. You probably value religion, but at the same time you think it should still stay separate from the government

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 4
You're a Capitalist Purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 3
You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 7
You're a Moderate. You think that in very rare occasions, the United States should invade a country in order to make the world better by spreading democracy or ending a tyrants rule. You also think that defense is very important, and we shouldn't lower the defense budget. You think that, while the Iraq War probably was a mistake, that we can make the world a better place by sticking with it and spreading democracy in the middle east.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Libertarian

You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. ***? I am not a gay *** Republican.

edit: the first bold... how can you call me a Republican when I believe in that? That's not Republican. Small govt, low taxes.... that sounds nothing like the Dems/Repubs....

As for the 2nd bold, how the hell did it come to that conclusion? I am not against the 2nd amendment, I am pro legalization of marijuana, and I hate censorship. This test blows.

As evident by the fact that they lumped me in with a bunch of gay *** Republicans.

it mis-labeled me very badly.

It told me i was a neo-con and fall in line with Bush,Cheney and Rumsfeld.
That's not where i stand.my true political philosophy falls in line with Reagan , Goldwater and the founding fathers.

just to point out the crappiness of this quiz, just look at where it has the first president Bush.hes labeled a hardcore conservative,is that a joke or what?
John Kennedy is mislabeled as a hardcore democrat.Hell,we have republicans now that are to the left of Kennedy. And LBJ as a traditional democrat.LBJ was darn near a strait up socialist.he helped destroy our economy be socializing many parts of it and created the new deal.

Conservative/Progressive score: 6
You are a social moderate. You think the progressive movement is overall well meaning, but sometimes it goes too far. On issues like abortion and affirmative action, you see the negatives of both extremes on the issue. You probably value religion, but at the same time you think it should still stay separate from the government

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 10
You're a Social Capitalist, you think that, left to its own, Capitalism leaves a lot of people behind. You think that Health Care should be free to all, that the minimum wage should be raised, and that the government should provide jobs to all that are capable of having them. You likely hated the Bush tax cuts, and believe that the middle class has gotten poorer, and the rich have gotten richer over the past several years. The far extreme of social capitalism is socialism.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 0
You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the US spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Democrat

You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 7
You're a Moderate. You think that we all have certain inalienable rights that must be protected, but that sometimes laws need to be made to protect the majority's lives or quality of lives. You might think that the 2nd amendment isn't necessary anymore because letting everyone a gun is extremely dangerous to the community. You might also be against illegal drug use or public pornography because of its possible harmful effects to society.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 10
You're a Militarist. You believe that since the United States has so much power in the world, it has a responsibility to keep the world safe. You think that if the US does not exert its power in the world, it may eventually lose its power, and that we can not look weak in the face of terrorists, and must take them out where they live.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Republican

Some of these questions are a little loaded. I do not beleive in abortion as a means of birth control, but I think a woman should be allowed to have one for health reasons, incest, or if she was raped. A woman should not be allowed to abort a fetus if she was not responsible enough to use a condom.

Hmm, Clinton and Kennedy are my two favorite post- WWII presidents (the 3rd is Nixon, go figure), so that's good. Carter no so much.

But I certainly don't consider myself a Democrat... mostly because it gives equal weight to social issues. I am pro-Choice and pro-Gay Rights, but I don't care very much about those issues as much as I care about Economic issues, where I'm pretty much straight Moderate if not even a little conservative.

Pretty close overall, though.

Good one, but the point I am trying to make is that it is very easy to stop the need for abortions without trying to make everyone abstinent. Besides there is a female condom out there.

Although I gotta say, this couldn't be more wrong. I think spreading democracy is an incredibly dumb mission, I DO think we should lower the defense budget and concentrate it more on intelligence work than heavy industry, and I KNOW the Iraq war is a mistake, but I don't want to stay for democracy, I want to stay because leaving it in the ****ed up position it's in now would be even dumber.

You are a social conservative. You believe in traditional values, and care first and foremost about your country, your family, and your religion. You dislike the agenda of the left because you see them as trying to destroy these things.

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 2
You're a Capitalist Purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization.
