What have you purchased from an add on TV?

I recently bought a "Tobi" from Kohls and it does work. (Be careful of the steam)

Now my whole family uses it. Works good on every type of clothing. It even worked on the carpet where a couch used to sit. Lifted the fibers right up and now you can't tell the couch ever sat there.

What have you bought that worked?

I didn't buy them, but I know that Sham Wows suck...and don't use them on your car...it'll micro-scratch the hell out of it.

I wondered about that. Watch on the commercial and when he does the "carpet test", he switches the carpet.

I heard anything Billy Mays sales sucks.

You know how most of the items are 19.99?

Well word is they have 30 dollar shipping on a lot of that stuff.

And if you open the box there is no return... So that way when you know its officially a sucky item you can't send it back.

My first Quik-Cook-Grill about 12 years ago. It came with one of those Ginsu knives. The grill was decent and served it's purpose. Then I sold it on eBay from about what I paid for it. The knife was awesome and still gets used all the time. I actually bought a couple more grills to sell on eBay just so I could have a couple extra knives. :D

There are "As Seen On TV" stores in outlet malls now. We've shopped at some to check out the stuff. I am really glad I passed on most of it. You could tell the stuff was cheaply made.

It's a fairly intense fitness program.

My friend bought one of those new blanket thingies you can wrap up in while watching TV. I forget the name, but she loves it.

I don't know about the Billy Mays products sucking, but there's a new show on Discovery called Pitch Men. Billy Mays is one of the two guys it focuses on. They won't advertise for a product until after they test it pretty rigurously.

Really good show by the way. Billy Mays amuses me because of just how nervous he gets when they ask him to do weird crap like handle a skunk for an odor product or put his hand under a car for a shoe insert.

don't buy anything from Video Professor, dude screws the hell out of you

like you have 10 days to ship your stuff back, to get your money back if you don't like his product that he pleads for you to try, but the 10 days starts as soon as you order, NOT after you receive it, and some people end up being charged like over 100 dollars automatically, let me get the link real quick warning you about it

http://www.infomercialscams.com/scams/video_professor => have to scroll down a bit to find it

also the free credit report.com thingy screws you too, once you sign up they bill you monthly

I forgot that Rain-X was an add. I guess that is two items that I have used.

The morning that we were leaving for our first Disney trip, it was raining like crazy. I pulled the vehicle into the garage and put rain-x on the windsheild. It rained all the way to Florida but I never turned the wipers on. :D

You're entitled to one credit report per year free, from each agency. If you wanted, you could do one agency now, then another in 4 months, etc.

I've used this before and it's no scam, just the credit report.

I'm on my 5th or 6th batch of "Oxi-Clean", or whatever it's called.

It first came up with the Billy Mays stuff and I bought some. Now, they sell it at Costco. A batch from Costco lasts a year or more of course.

It DOES work as advertised. Takes out most any stain, a great cleaner for just about everything. It's a powder, like detergent, and you mix it with water according the the strength level you need. I use it in my car wash mixture, to clean up after pet stuff, floors, furniture, wood, just about anything..................

That's actually a good idea. I usually just get 'em all at the same time. It makes sense to stretch it out throughout the year. Hmm. I'm gonna do that next year.

One of my co-workers loved Foreman stuff, so when Kil and I got married, he talked everyone into buying us this:

http://www.amazon.com/Foreman-GRV660-Toaster-Broiler-Rotisserie/dp/B0002YE6KE

I gotta say, it's been pretty great! The only thing that we haven't been able to use yet is the rotisserie, because you really need to have a smaller piece of meat/bird. I had gotten what seemed to be an average size chicken, and it was way too big for this.

Still, it's definitely been nice to have.

My sister got me the perfect push-ups. They are effective, and you will see results, if you follow their plan and keep increasing your max.

They really work your arms, chest, and even your abs to some degree.

But naturally like most workout equipment I have kinda forgot about them until I read this thread.

But just like anything, as long as you keep working out you will see results.

Even better...go to Lowe's (My favorite place on the planet) and buy two lengths of some fairly heavy chain. You only need one for pushups....you just set the length on your back...more coils for more weight, and have the two ends drape over your sides. As you push up, you push more weight for progressive resistance. You can do two chains after the resistance one provides seems too light. The same can be done for bench press, and a ton of other exercises. Use your imagination.
