Quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. Nothing more to add.

Last night I was debating on watching something from "On Demand" and I looked at that movie. I ended up just watching Pale Rider on Stars.

Seven Pounds has got to be one of the worst movies ever. It certainly is for Will Smith.
That movie is the most depressing movie I have ever partially seen.
Can you believe they release it during Christmas?
I wonder what the suicide rate was after this release? Yikes !!

It was depressing only in the sense that it was terrible. EVERY single scene was packed with artificial poignancy and the music never stops. Will Smith keeps this ridiculous expression on his face and comes out with drivel like 'you are a good man Ezra...' Absolute garbage. I'd rather subject myself to 2 hours of dentistry than watch that again.

I want to see it just because of this... interesting in a train wreck sort of way.

Don't you think you're getting overly dramatic? It wasn't a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it certainly wasn't the worst ever. It may have been Will Smith's worst, however.

I just watched this last night as well. Not the worst movie ever, but depressing as all...
And yes, releasing this around Christmas does not make one bit of sense.

I don't know if people would consider them great, or what have you, but I have seen a few movies of his that I really enjoyed.
I have never seen Seven Pounds though so I can't really comment on it.

I wouldn't describe anything he's done as "great", but he's made numerous movies that I've thoroughly enjoyed. I've enjoyed watching him grow as an actor as well.
I have been disappointed in some of his more recent films, however...but not due to his acting ability.

That's my personal favorite. I watch this at least once a year. The tech that they use in that movie has held up surprisingly well considering it's age too.

Can't think of a worse off the top of my head. I mean obviously something like Howard The Duck is bad, but then it has no pretensions of being anything more than that. Seven Pounds is obviously aspiring to be a great movie and it fails spectacularly.

it has a boatload of good actors in there:
Jack Black (he's a better supporting actor than lead, where he's funny because you don't see too many of his cracks)
Jamie Kennedy (again)
Barry Pepper (not a bad lead, but a great supporting actor, definitely underrated, I'll give him a pass for being in Battlefield: Earth)
Jon Voight (great supporting actor)
then Gene Hackman (one of the best actors of all-time, or at least since the '70s)
and Will Smith is always good in action flicks, and them alone

I also like:
Jason Lee (underrated, but I'm biased form watching him in skateboard videos when I was a kid).
Scott Caan (not overly funny, but he has his moments)
Lisa Bonet (hot as hell, and has some talent)
Gabriel Byrne (not a big part, but not bad)

Yeah that was a great movie.
He wasn't that bad in I Am Legend, the main problem with that movie was how far away from the book it got. They totally hosed the meaning of the title.
Incidentally Seven Pounds' popularity on IMDB has risen a shocking 30% this week. It has a rating of 7 1/2 stars out of 10.

I liked Hancock, Six Degrees of Separation, Enemy of the State. Forget the plots, I loved both Bad Boys
Bad Boy is how Will introduced his swexiness..

I thought this was going to be about how much weight Bob added to his gut this past week.
Disappointing.

I liked the Bad Boys movies, Enemy of the State, Independance Day, I Am Legend, Men in Black just off the top of my head. I don't think he's the best actor ever, by any means, but I don't think he's a bad one either.

I just think that he's out of his realm as an actor when he goes beyond action-superstar

That's quite possible. Most of my favorites of his are action movies. Though I did like Legend of Bagger Vance as well, which obviously isn't an action flick.
