Will Terrance Malick get royalties for his style being used??Doubt it, since Saving Private Ryan was filmed and edited about the same time.

I don't think you understood the point he's trying to make

he's talking about the flashback scenes that he used in A Thin RedLine

btw, kmp, clean out your inbox, I need to ask you a question

Actually, just the overall feel and use of soft voice overs and just the whole style. First thing that popped in my head was, did Malick direct this series? I looked around on the web and other people were asking the same thing so it's not just me :)

Watch a thin red line or new world...you'll get it.

Ok, inbox deleted.

Band of Brothers is absolute greatness. If this is even in the same ballpark as that, we're in for such a treat.

OT: that trailer for "2012" looks wild.

It seems they're going with a much lesser known cast this time around. The great thing about BoB is that by the end of the series you felt like you knew each and every character, they were very distinct. From this trailer it looks like they have a bunch of indistinguishable, pretty faces.

It looks like a porn Michael Bay would watch :) I don't think any movie will EVER top the ammount of distruction done in that movie...holy moly.

Going to be difficult to top Band of Brothers, but this does look really good.

RIP Shifty. Hadn't heard that either...

As Popeye Wynn said of his friend, "It just doesn't pay to be shootin' at Shifty when he's got a rifle.

Nice.

And good timing. I just burned through my BoB DVD set again last week.

YouTube took down the video, so here's another link:

Also, for 24 fans, I recognized James Badge Dale in the trailer (aka Chase Edmunds from Season 3).

Shifty is gone. Sadly there are so few left. But he lived a good long life.
