I'm always amazed at league that draft so early. I don't draft until a couple of weeks before the season starts. If a player gets hurt you're screw. I've been there before. It sucks.

Ugh.... terrible team.

I hope you were picking 20th ;)... I'm assuming Witten or Evans were your No. 1 pick?

But seriously that's way too many teams to have any fun IMO.

The only thing I can say about that team is good luck.

You are going to need it. Big time.

Not sure about that draft...

In a 20 team league you definately want to lock up a solid QB within your first 3 picks. Looks like you took Slaton-Witten-Evans in that order. Was Romo not on the board in round 2?

romo was gone long before i got my second pick or i would definately have had him. hopefully russell will have a good year for me, surely oakland have to sort it out at some stage - obviously not thanksgiving! depending on the courts court and goodell i reckon jones and burress could be steals for me.

He may not/probably won't be the starter. My money is on Garcia.

My condolences. lol. Kind of kidding...kind of. 20 team leagues are rough.

Hey everyone has an opinion. I'll give you some feedback...but it's just one opinion.

QB---Okay, You won the record for worst QBs ever. LOL Even if you were the last guy in your league to take a #1 QB you should have been able to get guys like Edwards, Garrard, Pennington, Eli manning or Orton in some cases.. And if you were, say, the 12-14th guy you could maybe even get a Palmer or or Schaub or Big Ben or Hasselback. There's a chance both your guys don't start. But who knows...maybe lightening strikes for you.

RB---Slaton rocks. There aren't many RBs that good (and on good offenses) that don't have to share the rock. But if you went 4th, that means you passed on either AP, MJD, Forte, or Turner...which is questionable. Most rate him as a top 8-12 pick though. Slaton will be great for you.
....but after that, good god man...your RBs are atrocious. Maybe Harrison will help...he's pretty good and lewis needs help. You must have waited a while to get RB2 and RB3.

WR---Lee Evans. He'll be okay for you. But I assume you had this draft many months ago (see Matt Jones...also Northcut for that matter)? You're in big trouble at WR. Was TJ Housh or maybe Vincent Jackson avail at 45? Evan would almost be there at pick 76 for you. If not a guy like A Gonzalas or S Moss? Miles is a sleeper, so maybe he'll help. Taking Plax was clever if it was near the end of the draft...since it would not have cost much.

TE--Witten also rocks! I would never have done that in a 20 teamer, but you will win that position almost every week. Problem is, you can get very very good TEs extremly late in the draft. So using your 2nd pick was a huge gamble when you could have added a decent RB2 (R brown or K Smithor grant?) or WR ( Owens, TJ, Coleston even?)...or even okay QB.

DST--Cards
K--Longwell

Good luck!

Wow, Jamarcus Russell and then Tarvaris to back him up? Those QB's won't give u any yards. BTW, isn't Brett and the ex Houston QB ahead of him on the depth chart?

Your WR's are really bad. No real #1 fantasy output.

Kinda early for a draft. What happens if they get hurt in training camps or the preseason?

hey its my first full season watching the sport i'm impressed theres only a few names on my team i didn't know! but seriously my lack of in depth knowledge will probably have hurt me in this (and losing connection halfway through my draft which left me with jones and burress when idealy i'd have only gambled on one) but i figured what better way of trying to learn more about the wider spectrum of the sport than to make a fool of myself? :D
bit of advice? we all seem to be in agreement that favre goes to the vikings which means jackson doesn't see any action. i was just trawling through the free agents in my league and noticed that clemmens at the jets is still up for grabs. he's likely to see a fair amount of game time with sanchez being a rookie or am i wrong? i still don't think its going to matter much unless the fat man gets hurt because i think he will do well this year for oakland though i may just be being optimistic.

What other QB's are available? Also, you might want to look into your #2 RB situation. I like Slaton, esp if it's a points per catch league. Not sure how Denver is gonna split the carries between Buckhalter and the rookie.

You're right, it's a great way to follow the league more closely.

It's a tossup with Clemmons and Sanchez. Also, Jackson could easily end up behind Rosenfelds in Minny if Farve does not sign on. It's going to be tough sledding for your QBs but maybe the light will go on for Russell.

Camp the waiver wire for Favre incase he signs with the Vikings.

Even in a 20 team league with slim pickings, that is a bad team. So given that you had 4th and assuming that Peterson, Turner and Forte went before you, why not MJD? I think he has more upside on yardage from catches and TD's versus a Houston team which struggles on D. I agree in 20team league, #2 pick should have been RB#2 or Top QB at that point.

Some advice since you a newbie to fantasy. Mock, mock, and mock draft before the real thing. Try this website to see how far you reached on some of these picks.

Much like everyone else stated, that is a pretty rough team. But you'll learn and pick up on things as you keep playing. With that being said, I have started 2 leagues on yahoo (14 and 16 team leagues). If anyone wants to see the info, PM me. The only additional rule to both of these leagues is for a team name to include a metro city and a mascot (The way team names are suppose to be).

8 team leagues are fun because every team is stacked but just a word of caution. You want to stay away from having to many players from one team. It kills you when they are on a bye week.

Absolutely you did much better here. Though that is much easier to do when it's an 8 team league as opposed to a 20 team league.

Good luck in both the leagues. I hope your first one wasn't one that you had to pay to play in and were playing for money cause you're likely going to get killed in that one.
