I haven't read or heard or seen anything about this movie except how bad it is. I just read another article over on Yahoo about "The Ten Most Confusing Things" about the movie, and all the "holes" in it's plot.

I don't get the point that all these pundits and reviewers are trying to make. OF COURSE it's not gonna' make sense and have a lot of loose ends. Most BIG BANG-Extravaganza movies ALL have story lines that don't make sense. Any, if not EVERY big-budget sci-fi flick............you could come up with a list of 50 "that didn't make sense" things.

As if it's supposed to win an Oscar or a Pulitzer Prize or something!?!?

I saw the first one and enjoyed it, and I'm taking the kids to see this one once the first-week crowds settle down a bit. But I'm under no illusion that I'm going to see "The Godfather", "Gone With the Wind" or "Schindlers List" or anything. I've been to many movies where I expect nothing more than killer special effects, a lot of noise and bang-bang, and that's it.

Anyone here see this movie yet, and do you agree that ripping it apart on the grounds of "a believable story" is kinda' redundant?

I thought it was great and took it for face value. I didn't read in to it to figure out all the holes. I went to enjoy a movie.

Most of these aren't really plot holes, they're easily explained things that the writer didn't pay close enough attention to, or use basic logic to figure out. Hell in #1 he talks about a line spoken in the trailer for the first movie (it was not in the final cut) and made an assumption about it to come up with the plot hole.

My son and I watched it last Saturday.

He and I both really enjoyed the movie. The new robots were very cool.

My undying love for Megan Fox continues.

I figure it must be some political or bias agenda against someone having to do with the movie. The "word is out" in the industry to bash the movie or something. It's all I can figure.............

I conclude this, because you NEVER here bashing along the lines of plot, or story, direction, or even acting, when it comes to this genre of movie. Everything from The Hulk to Jurassic Park to Independence Day to the Terminator movies..................I never heard "but the story doesn't make sense, it's not believable". NO KIDDING!!!

It's just something that caught my attention this week.

Actually that started back when I still have to pay full price for both of us.

I think that is when she saw that I was wise beyond my years. Or maybe that I was just older than her. I'm still confused on that point.

Film can be art so when movies like Transformers 2 come out, its way down on the scale. Some people can tell the difference between good writing and bad writing. Some people can tell good directing and bad directing. Not everyone wets themselves with excitement based on explosion count.

It's like Cowboy fans who get pissed when we field a team like in 2001 knowing we had the 93 team. Then on every loss you mope around like someone shot you cause of how bad we played etc. We're a better organization than that. Instead of fielding an A+ team, you trot out a D- team. While another person who's not a huge Cowboys fan just says, "Well they tried..at least it's football. Wanna go shop for curtains?" To one person its the COWBOYS, to another it's a silly game. It's perspective. The silly game person just sees it as well, they threw the ball around, you saw some tackles, how are you upset? The other person sees it as football, love of the game, THE COWBOYS. Then you can say that about movies..its just a dumb popcorn movie, what do you expect?

You can write/direct any movie solidly. Transformers movies weren't even as serious as the dang cartoon! Farting robots, joe peschi talking bots, ghetto gold tooth no reading bots, megan fox airbrushing a bike outside in a stupid way, robot scrotoms, weed brownies for no reason, sam going to a robot heaven....that just makes people who see movies as FILMS scratch their head on bad writing and dumb decisions. You can leave that out and it'd make it a better film. Dark Knight and Iron Man weren't the best movies ever made...but done 100x better. Michael Bay chose to put too much "Jar Jar" type crud in this movie. It's like Lucas...he made A New Hope and he made Phantom Menace. One was pretty serious and one had a dumb alien stepping in sh*t. You make it the first way, you build and empire. You make it the second way, you destroy it. Lucas has lost all respect people had for him now.

I guess it boils down to some people see movies on what they could be and don't just accept the crud they're given. Some people can see art for what it is and don't crap themselves from laughing when a robot farts.

I just woke up, who knows if any of that even makes sense :laugh2:

Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining for the family, but they tried to put in too much comic relief with the new auto bots. Think Jar-Jar Binks as it was that bad. My kids even got annoyed by the forced humor. It was very annoying in that respect, but the FX were phenomenal...

The first one was MUCH better, but the second one is a fun experience... it was worth the money to see it on the big screen, but don't expect the sequel to be better than the first one. It's not even close...

BTW, I won't reveal any spoiler, but it is totally set up for a third one...

Don't be dense.

Critics are bashing Transformers because it's a bad movie, not because of your crackpot conspiracy theory. It's not as if critics are Hollywood's lackies. Hollywood isn't critiquing this movie, critics around the globe are. If your theory were right they would give any movie that shows the military in a good light a horrid rating, but on the same weekend that Transformers 2 came out a movie called The Hurt Locker came out which is about an elite Army bomb squad in Iraq, and that movie is getting some of the best reviews of the year. Why? Because it's a good movie.
