My Wife watches General Hospital daily. I walked by the TV one day and saw these two guys having an overdramatic discussion. I walked by the TV again five days later and those same two guys were still having that same discussion.

They're horrible. When I was a kid I hated seeing them come on because that meant soap operas for the next 3-4 hours before something good came on.

It's just mindless stupid crap. I used to hate when they would talk and there would be a pause, then they would cut to another scene with other people's situation. Just stupid.

Both true statements, but we still have another 500 channels. You think that she could find something else to watch while temporarily escaping from her misery.

Ha, good thing I don't watch that show.
I sure hope Kate and Sawyer end up together, they've been through so much, they just deserve it.

Believe it or not many professional ball players watch the day time soaps as well. Guys will have workouts during the morning and when the break mid day many of them sit around watching the soaps.

Again you would be surprised who watches soaps. Heck some of these players have even made appearances on soaps.

I still remember when Victor Newman on the Young & The Restless had a stroke or a seizure or whatever made him fall out and he laid on the carpet for like three weeks. In soap opera time, that's one or two days.
Soap operas follow insane logic. One day, the children are kids. The next air date, they're grown and having their second child themselves. Crazy.
I do have to admit that I watched As The World Turns back in the late 80's myself. Back when Lauryn Hill was still an unknown, but was well-worth waiting to see her in a scene or two.

As I said for ball players with time on their hand an hour or 2 before having to get back at working out many will sit down and watch their favorite soaps. Soaps in the NFL tend to be popular during training camp and baseball you night games with little to do during the day hours many will watch the soaps.

In all my years of going into people's homes as a Sears' tech if there was one show that everyone, no matter what color, nationality, age or whatever seemed to watch it was The Price is Right.

I've watched soaps since I was in high school, playing football. Now I record one each day. Its a TV show like anything else. Don't see the big deal.
