I have to be honest with you.

As much as I abhor spiders and scorpions, they're still God's creatures. And it just seems wrong to make any living thing -- regardless of innate creepiness or nastiness -- fight to the death for human amusement.

Pointless death. I suggest something more interesting. Those that create it, fight to the death. The winner gets to be killed quickly whole the loser dies a slow painful death.
