December 19th -

Dallas will resemble more of a Parcells team next year-
The entire linebacking core will be cut - I know Al and Dexter are gonners-not so sure about Dat-although he has lost a step

We will bring in big fast linebackers- Porter, Hartwell and draft-

We will focus on both sides of the line with the draft- lets hope Peterman and Jacobs are solid players for us come next year- if so we will be ok

Dline- no doubt lots of our focus on d will be there for next year- with Parcells already saying that the cb is at a disadvantage under the new rules interpretations-

Rogers or abraham would be nice but I would also like to see the fattest guy possible signed to clog the middle some more- Glover and Carson have played good this year- glover and ellis will be pro bowlers

Roy needs to lose 10-15 lbs to make him the all around safety that we know he can be- he will still hit with a vengeance but he will get there quicker and make more plays if he loses a few lbs in the offseason

Move Flozell to rt with Jacobs at left tackle- Peterman and allen at the guards and johnson at the center with a draft pick to go with tyson walter , vollers and tucker at his real position of guard

Also we will be looking for a play maker at the wideout and depth at running back in the draft and offseason.

So this would be a good offseason

rogers or abraham
Hasselbeck
Walter Jones- if hes not franchised of course
Either Lucas or Baxter from the Ravens
Either Hartwell or Porter at linebacker

IN draft- I would love derrick johnson , shawn merriman from the u of md- you will here lots about him prior to the draft, and the linebacker from u va- chris canty- 6'7 260 lbs and runs like the wind

As always if there is a stud dline man or olineman in the draft we will definitely snatch them up.

What do you guys think- its a ways away - only 65 days really
we are almost on the clock

What we need on OFFENSE

1. Better QB. This has already been discussed at length. (FA acquisition)
2. Back-up RB to help share burden. (Likely Draft)
3. RG (Maybe on roster with Peterman?)
4. Upgrade at FB. Barnes is average, at best. (Draft)

I think we'll be o.k. at tackle with either Rogers or Flo switching.

On DEFENSE

1. DE in place of Wiley (FA acquisition)
2. Starting DT, with Carson in rotation (FA acquisition)
3. Stud LB in place of Singleton
4. CB opposite Newman. Put Frazer in nickle. (FA acquisition)
5. Starting FS in place of L. Scott. (FA acquistion)

Hunter and wiley are ok- if we can abraham or rogers we will do it- but I m not sure they will be available-
Mike McMahon, Hasselbeck, kitna could all do a great job- better than vinny

Why would you say that Wiley is o.k.? He's below average, IMO.

And Hunter is a complete unknown.

wiley has been ok- the entire defense has sucked- minus glover and ellis- so by that logic I would agree-

Hunter is a unknown but you cant change the entire defense- or 7 players in one offseason-
definitely need
2 linebackers-
dt
free safety
cb
thats minimal-

I still have hopes that Hunter will be the safety that Dixon and Scott are not.

I think without a solid DE, we're going to get exposed in the secondary once again, esp. with the new rules.

In any case, I hope we prioritize the DL and the Secondary, esp. the Safety position.

Wiley is OK? He is brought in here to put pressure on the QB and doesn't get his first sack until week 10 and he is OK? I don't know what kind of curve you are grading him on because I have seen each game this season and he flat out sucks. We would have been better off keeping Eb for 1 more year and he was terrible.

we are almost on the clockThe only way Flozell goes to the right side is if he takes a big pay cut or we get a left handed QB.

flozell will be a rt next year- there have been lots of reports indicating that flozell is having trouble this year with speed rushers and that Jacobs position is left tackle-

If flo doesnt move I think that speaks more to the fact that Jacobs sucks than Flozell wont be moving.

you think derrick johnson will be there - I dont see that unless we lose the rest of our games - he is definitely going top 10

I wouldn't mind the Boys picking up a receiver in FA like Jerry Porter from Oak. I think he has TO potential of course, with the right QB. Bennett wouldn't be a bad acquisition either. Of course, there are more dire needs than WR.....but, it will be a minor need nevertheless.
