I am utterly amazed to see Billy Volek totally dismantle Oakland's secondary. Not that the Raider DBs have been stellar, but the Raider corner are nothing to sneeze at. And Woodson has been victimized repeatedly.

I mention this because if you can't count on Charles Woodson or Champ Bailey for good corner play, then who can you count on?

It's a rhetorical question in my mind because the league has gone too far towards aiding the offenses and passing attacks that even the best corners have little chance at succeeding.

I don't know about you, but there can be just as much joy in watching great play from DBs as from WRs. If only the NFL realized this.

It's almost no fun for me anymore.

Dude, I'm feeling the same exact way. If corners such as Champ Bailey and Chris McAllister are failing, what does that mean for all the average corners? I really feel like the NFL is going through some huge changes. While watching games I feel like the offense can throw basically whenever they want too! It's really starting to get boring.

Absolutely. Tags doesn't want balance. It's obvious they want scoreboards lighting up like crazy. But hey, the league is making money hand over fist.

What do I know?

I still hate it. If you can throw effectively, there is nothing a defense can do to stop you.

Agreed, but Woodson has been overrated long before the refs started to enforce the rules this year.

Bascially I feel sorry for teams that forked out alot of money to those elite CB's

Now all the corners are basically the same. The front four becomes more important then ever and applying pressure to the QB is a must.....but then again...if you sneeze on the QB....it will be roughing the passer.

The NFL should of just moved up north here and adopted the CFL rules...

Its pretty pathetic.

I have to believe that they will re-tweak the interference penalty again. The refs have really gone overboard at times, being totally inconsistent. Way to many bogus contact/pi calls this year.

Heh, good point about how QBs are protected too. How does a defense win? Bad offenses do it for them I guess.

Seen plenty of that here. :(
