I live in Philly country and I was at the game yesterday. All year I would kid Eagle Fans that Roy would would knock TO out but I never really believed it. It was a shame and I hope it doesn't affect the rest of his carear but These fans really believe they are jinxed. This injury knocked all the air out of them They are in disbelief and the fact it was Roy (I am ashamed to say it) it does bring some satisfaction to this dissapointing season the Cowboys have had

It is unfortunate that Terrell Owens suffered a season-ending injury that also ended the Eagles' Super Bowl aspirations. I take no pleasure in seeing any player experience a serious injury, and I know that many fans are attributing T.O.'s injury to some kind of jinx or bad luck. Well, I'm sorry Eagles' fans, but bad luck or a jinx has absolutely nothing to do with it.
You can call it karma or poetic justice or reaping what you sow, but it has everything to do with all of the negativity, hostility, pessimism, and hate that flourishes within the City of Brotherly Love and especially within many Philadelphia sports fans. These are the same fans who cheered Michael Irvin's career-ending injury; the fans who have made a tradition of throwing batteries and pennies at players of the visiting team. They are also the fans who proudly sell and display "F***" DALLAS" t-shirts on many a street corner the week the Cowboys come into town. They are the ones who will kick anyone's a** who dares root for the opposing team. For a few games each year, the city has to arrange for a special detention area to hold and fine all violent fans. They certainly deserve their regular top ranking as most hostile city in the country. I should know; I had the misfortune of living there for four years.
It is also no coincidence that the player in question is T.O. This is the same player who displayed such poor sportsmanship and contempt for the Cowboys by celebrating touchdowns on the star and did so again this season in the endzone. He is also a player who is notorious for his antics in showing up the other team.
Philadelphia sports teams will not win another championship any time soon unless they clean up their act.

I hope T.O. recovers to the point that he walks without a limp. And he should get down on his knee and thank God he's not a horse.

Poor BO,
Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person or team or city. Most of the fans at their games don't act like humans.

^ Here here. There is no doubt that I dislike the Eagles and their fans more than any other of our "rivals." I don't wish injury on any one, but I am sure has helll not sorry for "eagle fan" today. I'll never forget the cheering of Mike Irvin's injury that day in Philly.

sounds like he'll be back for the SB if his team can get there without him...he's possibly the best WR in the game, right up there with Moss and Harrison...and while he's goofy with his stupid celebrations, he is simply the modern athlete having fun and getting press. Bottom line: he makes plays and is always prepared and is a hard worker in the mode of Irvin.
other players and former players appear to love the guy because he's not a trouble maker or druggie or wife beater or drunk, whatever...just a hard nosed player.
I think if one really watches both T.O. and Moss, he'll see that neither has been the cancer or trouble maker they were expected to be, and I'd love to have either wearing the star.
I wouldn't throw dirt on TO or the Eagles just yet this season if I were you.

#1--the loss of TO severely damages their chances to get to the SB.
#2--I called a Dr. friend of mine and he says there is no way in heck that he returns this year. And there is a good chance it affects him for the remainder of his career.
If his antics had no be at the expense of disrespecting other players or teams in general (see Cowboys), I may not feel about him the way I do. I have been at every home game in which he pulled his stunts, so I don't have much compassion for him. The fact he plays for Philly doesn't help.

They are also the fans that booed santa clause. Hey, stuff happens, if we would have had Terry Glenn we probably would have beat them and probably would still be in the play-off race. I posted last week to one of the Eagles fans that used to post here when they were doing well that they were one injury away from mediocrity of either Westbrook, McNabb, or Owens. It was immediately apparent that we started playing a different more aggressive defense when he went out. If you want a picture of how they'll do w/o him look at how well the Vikings were doing on offense before Moss got hurt and then after he got hurt.

I hate to see any player get hurt but he's lucky they got rid of that old turf in Philly or it would have been MUCH worse.

Live in the Philly burbs and me too. I used to tell them Roy would hit T.O. so hard he'd be pee'ing blood. It was all in good fun, though, never thought Roy would actually take him out of a game. It wasn't even a vicious hit, more of a freak thing. Roy is strong as an ox, though.

Yep, I agree. I've played and been around sports all my life at a high level and had my share of ankle injuries. It would've been difficult for him to come back healthy enough from just a medium or bad sprain let alone surgery. They are putting screws in his ankle and all kinds of junk...no way he's back this year. And there's no way they're going to the SB anyway.
If i were a beagle fan, I'd be more concerned about the longterm because there is a decent chance that he will at least be affected and slowed by the injury next season, esp if he comes back too soon. It could also be a nagging injury or one of those injuries that leads to other future injuries. If the healing and rehab doesn't go perfectly, there's a possibility that he would never be the player he once was.
I always hate to see injuries to anyone.....I have to say that this is an exception.

wow...your doctor friend must be related to Karnac to be able to give that diagnosis without seeing any x-ray or anything.

being around sports, you should know then that a clean break is often better than a severe sprain....tendons and such never tighten back up without surgery....you always have a weak ankle....a broken bone heals, expecially a hairline fracture on a young guy.

that's what people have always told me and I think its crap having done both.
Screws can shorten a bone healing but its often awkward and can inhibit tendon/ligament and muscle healing.
I think he should consider himself fortunate if this injury doesn't carry into next season and he can run with the same speed and cut with the same tenacity. I've known guys who were always healthy and then have one good injury and that injury lives in the back of their mind for the rest of their career too.

i don't feel too badly for him - glad its only serious enough to keep him out the rest of this season, and we'll see how he looks next year. there will be other teams next season who can challenge the eagles - carolina, falcons, detroit, GB, maybe even the cowboys.
with owens the eagles were easily the best of the nfc. now we'll see if they still have what it takes... and i don't think they do.
