I didn't hear the interview, but I am listening to norm now.

I don't know why Jerry needs to continue opening his mouth just to hear him talk. Sure we could trade one of those picks but that will be considered come draft time. You see what type of offers you get and then make your move. Heck if a team like the Cardinals want to move back into the first round I would do the exact same deal we did with the Bills this year. Give up the Bills #1 in the 20s and pick up a second, fifth and an '06 first. Don't know why Jerry needs to open his yapper here
though.

Makes him sound all important, sorta...GMish??

Jerry's a freakin' moron. Just hire a real GM alright already.

i wouldnt trade the Buffalo pick for a future #1, we tried that last year, and we didnt really gain very much, we need to get value this year, so if a GM called me for our 1st rounder this year, i would want immediate results such a 2nd, 3rd and possibly a player, we are not in a position right now to be mortgaging our 1st rounders for the future.

well that'd be idiotic because we need players now so unless he's gonna break the bank of YOUNG FA's this offseason he should learn from the past that you build mainly from the draft.
He should be talking about trading up several spots with both picks (keeping both firsts) or at worst down for some killer bargains but not out completely.
Honestly though I think its all smoke and mirrors though.
lets just keep trading the buffalo pick so that we never realize the benefit. Pure genious.

Could JJ possibly mean like stockpiling picks like he did with the Buffalo pick last year. Picked up an extra #1 pick in the next draft and get 2 extra in return for the same draft. So maybe he's talking trade the Buffalo pick, pick up an extra 2nd and 5th rounder for this year's draft or whatever, and get another pick in next year's draft. Now I don't follow mock drafts that closely until it gets close to the draft, so I don't know who would warrant that much at this point. But it doesn't sound as dumb to me as some of you seem to think.

This just ges to show further proof that Parcells has lost it, and it aint ever coming back...
other than when Jones spouted off about Henson (which he was right about), Jones doesnt say anything that Parcells isnt signing off on...this b/swith trading one of next yrs ones for "future" picks is further proof of the Parcells stupidity IMO...we all know Jones is a boob when it comes to being a GM, but he's a GM in name and face only...Parcells runs everything, and honestly he's run aground
Like I said, I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt now that we wont ever win big with Parcells here running things...injuries have played a part, but this guy has made one awful decision after one awful decision this yr...whether it be with personnel, game plans, in game decisions or playcalling....Parcells gets (and deserves) a BIG FAT F for a grade this yr...in fact if there was anythinglower than an "F", he'd get that instead

Jerry said that 'as he sees it right now' - Vinny, and the kids will back next season as they are now.
He doesn't believe in taking a shot at a QB in the top of the draft. He will continue to try and find a QB using the same method he is using now (e.g. find one without having to spend a top pick or top money).
He does not feel that this seasons woes are Vinny's fault (blamed injuries).
He has no intention of being 'agressive' in free agency. He believes this is the problem that other teams have created for themselves up against the cap.
Norm asked him again about Vinny being back on the team next year. Norm sounded almost incredulous when asking Jerry if he truly believed that Vinny would be next year's starter.
Jerry re-emphasized that is his intention.
Jerry talked about separating himself from Jerry the owner (fan) and Jerry the GM.
Norm was stunned.
And so I am, quite frankly.
I hope this is Jerry holding his cards close rather than how he truly feels.

are you sure it wasnt BP on with Norm this morning? holy crap Jerry has really bought into BP's crap. how can he think that most of the losses werent VT fault? like ive posted in the past, in all of our (5) wins VT threw 4th quarter INT's that almost resulted in a loss. i guess that went un-noticed.

You know, I was actually thinking that while listening to the interview (that this sounded like Bill rather JJ).

He's probably trying to get that 3rd round pick back that he used on Henson.

Yeah, let's not copy anything Bill Bilichek has been doing. That'd be idiotic.
Would I trade the #23 pick again for a future #1, a 2nd and a 5th?
In a second. Especially if there's not a player with value there.

why is it so hard for everyone to see?...now pay attention kiddies:
JERRY JONES IS NOT RUNNING THIS TEAM
JERRY JONES IS NOT THE REAL GM OF THIS TEAM
JERRY JONES HAS WENT FROM BEING THE PUPPET MASTER (Switzer, Gailey, Campo)TO BEING THE PUPPET HIMSELF
JERRY DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING PUBLICLY THAT PARCELLS HASNT TOLD HIM TO SAY (save the Henson thing)
This season has been a a total waste, and from Jerry's comments today after his lengthy discussions with rotten Tuna, it appears next year is going to be a complete waste as well...we might be ready to legitimately compete for a championship again around 2030

I don't have the hope anymore after listening to him that we will be that improved next year. Particularly if Vinny is back.

being 'aggressive' doesn't mean you are being stupid.
and being 'conservative' doesn't mean you are being smart.
I want them to be 'aggressive' without screwing the cap. they will have $25 million in cap space. They better use some of it.
There are no stars on the team that will demand huge cap space in the future.
This is getting ridiculous.
Jerry could really end up damaging the fan base.

You are off your rocker. Parcells can't always stop Jerry from himself. Parcells messed up at RCB and allowing Zimmer to keep his midget 4-3 defense. That I agree on. He has upgraded the RB, TE and has OLine depth/youth.
Defense has 3 cornerstone players and needs an infusion of talent and size in 2005. We are in a rebuilding mode. You are so delusional in your one sided wrath at Parcells over a QB call that you are missing the big picture.
My money is on Parcells. We are sitting on two #1's and $20 Million in Cap $.

no excuse for continuing to play Vinny, let alone actually believe bringing him back NEXT year to start is a good thing...
also, according to Jones today we're gonna be "extremely conservative" in free agency and might even trade 1 of the #1' for "future" picks...
all 3 of these things are BAD decisions, and ALL THREE are being made by PARCELLS

At least people can stop saying they're arguing and BP is trying to get fired. Especially if both are spouting the same thing publicly. Whether we agree or not, they seem to be on the same page.

I respectfully disagree. If we has used the first rounder last year we would have a running back to show for it. By trading the pick, we got possibly the best back in the draft (remains to be seen) and a 1st Rounder this year, plus I think one other pick last year. Thats two quality players for the price of one, plus a late round pick.

Of course you consider trading one of the 1sts. It all depends on the offer. Would I take the same deal as last season? Absolutely!!!
The difference in talent between Kevin Jones and Julius Jones is minimal while we pay less, got additional late round picks and a very good chance at a higher draft pick. Buffalo would have to win out to equal last seasons' Dallas record. Buffalo got lucky that RW turned dopehead. That would have been a real nasty division if not. As it is its very good anyway.
I hope Buffalo wants their pick back. I'd love to get their 1s next year after they start the young QB all season.

That was my point I made above. A lot depends on what type of offer you get on draft day. I would be leary of trading our own top 10 pick for multiple picks (I am assuming we lose out down the stetch). Although I would be more willing to trade the Bills pick for a similar deal we had last year. I think the concern most have is we have been a terrible drafting team in the past. There are a lot of good players in the second round. Unfortunately besides Al Johnson and Julius we haven't gotten many hits. We need to find three players with our first three picks who can play from day one. If we trade down one of our picks then we still need a difference maker even if we get a future first from someone.
