So Demps and Howard are both FA's? Look like good pick ups. Demps has never been a big int guy, and I've seen him drop some. But I like the idea of him and Roy vs Roy and anybody else we have hehe. I wonder if the Aints would give us Will Smith instead? :p

What is everyone's fascination with Will Demps?
He's the weak link on the Ravens D, and he doesn't get exposed that often because of the players he's surrounded by. Not much of an upgrade over Scott/Dixon.
Anyway, this is what I kinda think will happen mixed with what I'm hoping for.
QB - Drew Bledsoe (FA)
RB - Jones
FB - Barnes
WR - Johnson/Morgan
WR - Glenn
TE - Witten/Campbell
LT - Adams
LG - Allen
C - Johnson
RG - Gurode
RT - Rogers
DE - Ellis
DT - Glover
DT - Anttaj Hawthorne (1b)
DE - Reggie Hayward, Broncos (FA)
OLB - Ahmad Brooks (1a)
MLB - Nguyen
OLB - James
CB - Newman,
CB - Anthony Henry, Browns (FA), Pete Hunter
FS - Dwight Smith, Bucs (FA)
SS - Roy Williams
What is everyone's fascination with Will Demps?
I don't have a fascination with him, like I said, he's not a ball hawk. I do think he's better than what we have. This draft is said to be weak for S's, so I'm not sure we should look for an upgrade there. I don't know what other S's are available through free agency.

I think Drew Henson could be possibly traded off diffently if Romo shows some promise this season and if the Cowboys sign Matt Hassleback it won't be no room for Henson so Cowboys might just trade Henson off while they have a chance and Matt Jones could be drafted to get more time...Heard the talk about Emmit might come back...
QB - Matt Hassleback (FA)/Tony Romo/Matt Jones, Arkansas (4b)
RB - Jones/E.Smith, Cardinals (FA)/Rashad Lee
FB - Lousank Polite (Practice Squad)/ Richie Anderson
WR - Johnson/Morgan/Crayton
WR - Mike Williams/Glenn/Cooper USC (1a)
TE - Witten/Campbell
LT - Adams/Vollers
LG - Allen/Walter
C - Johnson/Dinapoli/Lehr
RG - Elton Brown, VA (1b)/Gurode
RT - Rogers/Tucker
DE - Ellis/Chris Canty, VA (2nd Rd)
DT - Glover/Albert Means, Memphis (4a)
DT - Shaun Rogers, Lions (FA)/Leo Carson
DE - Wiley/Eric Obogu
OLB - D.Coakley/Kalen Thorton
MLB - D.Nguyen
MLB - E. Hartwell, Ravens (FA)
OLB - B. James (switch sides)
CB - T.Newman
NB - Lance Frazier
CB - Fred Smoot, Redskins (FA)
FS - P.Hunter, W.Demps, Ravens (FA)/
SS - R.Williams, K.Davis<---*SWITCH*

I don't know what other S's are available through free agency.
Dwight Smith although he's talking of trying to get CB money is better
Chris Hope is a good player on Pittsburgh's D young with better coverage skills than Demps.
RDE: Wiley...ouch...will be here I bet.
DT: Anttaj Hawthorne(1b rd)
DT: Laroi Glover
LDE: Greg Ellis
OLB: Dat Nguyen
MLB: Ed Hartwell (FA)
OLB: Derrick Johnson (1a rd)
CB: Terence Newman
CB: Ken Lucas (FA)
NB: Pete Hunter

I'm a believer in Baxter over Lucas thats me though. After watching Baxter you could switch his jersey with McAllister and it would be hard to tell them apart by the way they moved and played.
I think Hartwell is JAG as long as we don't overspend.
Pool and Johnson are flat out studs and think the nachos would be safe with those two picks. Two impact playmakers
Pool has a little Ed Reed with 3 more inches in height as a Sooner fan though I hope he stays.
First Round DT are scary I'd rather have a FA than Hawthorne
VA Cowboy

RB - Jones/E.Smith, Cardinals (FA)/Rashad Lee
I've heard rumors that Emmitt may want to return for one final season with Dallas. I wouldn't mind. He's better than Eddie and would would be a decent backup.
Plus I think it would be good to see him go out a Cowboy...and not just one of those one day contract deals.

CB - Anthony Henry, Browns (FA)
I didn't realize he was a free agent. Nice option to have if we can't land Lucas. Throw in Hartwell at LB and we start out FA with a bang!

I disagree. Baxter doesn't make many plays although he is surrounded by nothing but pro bowl players. He doesn't make many INT's and he gets picked on more than anyone else in that secondary IMO.

This isnt neccessarily what I want it to be, but this is what I would predict:
QB: Drew Henson
RB: Julius Jones
FB: Richie Anderdson
WR1: Jerry Porter (FA)
WR2: Keyshawn Johnson
WR3: Quincy Morgan
WR4: Terry Glenn
TE1: Jason Witten
TE2: Dan Campbell

OT: Jacob Rogers
OG: Larry Allen
OG: Stephen Peterman
C: Al Johnson
DE: Greg Ellis
DE: John Abraham (FA)
DT: La'Roi Glover
DT: Anttaj Hawthorne
OLB: Ahmad Brooks (starting to really like this guy)
OLB: Jerry Porter (FA)
MLB: Dat Nguyen
CB1: Terence Newman
CB2: Ken Lucas (FA)
CB3: Gary Baxter (FA)
CB4: Lance Frazier
FS: Will Demps (FA)

I saw him live he's the real deal. Guess who Peyton Manning burned that day McAllister Not Baxter. He gave up two small completions to Wayne one for 3 yards and that was it. If you want players that don't make plays look no further than Demps and Hartwell.

I agree with you on Demps.
Baxter played much better last week, but he was torched the week before. He isn't a bad player, I just don't think he would be the right fit for us.

It's funny that two of the top S prospects are from the same school. I need to play close attention to that D in their bowl game, lots of prospects.

Hos,
This is one of the more reasonable lineups I've seen. If Marlin Jackson or Anntaj Hawthorne could survive until the second round, I'd take one of them!
Just a few notables, however:
1. I think Flo Adams should probably be switched to RT and Rogers moved to LT, especially if it seems that the scheme works throughout the minicamps and training camp.
2. I'd rather have a true playmaker at FS. I REALLY like Keith Davis, I'm just not sure about him. I love his tenacity, which could help to fuel a secondary. Also, contrary to popular belief on this board, I DO think we're building depth in our secondary. If Hunter comes back in tip-top shape, and we add playmaking CB, then we're set with Hunter, Frazier, Nate Jones, and Bruce Thornton/or Jacques Reeves as backups. I like Nate Jones - he just needs more experience.
3. If we can't get John Abraham, and IF Simeon Rice is released then I say let's go after him.
4. I'd also like to add another playmaking LB in addition to drafting D. Johnson. I'm not yet convinced that Bradie James can be the man yet.
Don't forget, we need to add a veteran QB to the mix, as well as a veteran RB.

Hos, if that happens Ill wet myself, but what makes you think Rice will be released and Rogers wont be franchised?Tampa has some cap issues coming and is a team in flux. I think they can save money by releasing Rice.
Detroit can franchise Rogers but I think if they do it means they can't do other things they want to so that Mooch can build his offense. In particular finish fixing their O-line. I think they'll let Rogers go and focus on a DT in the draft and will look OL in FA.

Here are my fearless draft predictions:
Ahmad Brooks will go before DJ. Both will be top ten picks.
No DT's will go top ten.
Mike Williams will be picked in the teens.
Three RB's will go top ten.
Leinart will stay at USC. Aaron Rodgers #1 to San Francisco.

A glaring weak spot on our current defense is the lack of playmaking linebackers. We will need to sign and or draft 2 or our defense will suffer again.
DT, FS and pass-rush also needs to be addressed, but I think the answers will come in free-agency.
Offensively, we will need to add a RG and RT, and if we are going to play a young QB, and I think it will be Henson, then we need to add a weapon or two offensively.
Basically, we need to add about 9 solid players through the draft and FA.
