Still doesn't make me like him any more than I NEVER did... can't stand that guy. He is the biggest crybaby in the league other than TO. He's gotten somewhat better lately about it but still... the guy gets away with murder and still whines.

Yep. Other players will play through family trouble without a word but with him, we all have to hear about it. Oh Brett always plays through his trouble, etc Makes me want to puke.

He went on to say he really doesn't like the Cowboys now though.

That's a shock, how many times did we knock him out of the playoffs? He could have easily had another 1 or 2 Superbowl rings if not for us. Who else was going to win it? If we weren't there it would have been between the Pack and the Niners, and I'd say that was a coin flip.

Of course he does not like us, he is what 2-8 against us including playoffs?

I'm talking about ON THE FIELD... jeez. Watch when he throws an INT... probaby 80% of the time he used to run to the refs and plead with them that his guy was interfered with... .not that they would call it for him right there, but the rest of the game, I'll be damned if he didn't throw 2 or 3 more picks that would be called back... That start record he's got?? That's all about HIM... if his thumb was broken, and he couldn't throw the ball right, he'd still want to start just to keep his streak intact.

That's what you're suppose to do, Irving. You're suppose to get in the refs ears. Coaches do it and the good players do it too.
They understand there's a psychological element to the game, and they figure maybe if I complain to the refs or get on their good side that they'll call one my way.
I call it being smart and understanding the game rather than whining.
As for his "start" record, it's all about him? If Brett couldn't start, do you think his coach would jeopardize a chance for the team to win? He's the best they have even half healthy. And so what if he wants to start. His team isn't complaining. They're relying on him.
I compare the carping about Favre with the carping about Emmitt Smith. Oh, he just wants to play to extend his record. He's selfish. So what? If he thinks he can play and a team is willing to give him a chance, why not?
I have nothing but respect for Favre. He's a throwback player and deserves much of the accolades, though they can be excessive.

wow. favre isn't a cowboy but cripes - he's one of the greatest QBs to ever suit up. if he was with dallas you'd be all over his jock. get real and realize it's just jealosy. favre is a gutsy throwback and dallas would be very lucky to find a guy of his ilk.

Hey to each his own... I just don't like the guy. Never have, and probably never will. Maybe some of it has to do with Madden always frothing at the crotch when talking about him... still, I don't think he's all that he's cracked up to be.

I dont care who he liked or who he likes now,i still cant stomach the man. He is hyped way to much and you just get sick of hearing about his name.

well that's a real logical reason to deny favre the distinction of being a great QB. "madden likes him". madden prolly likes chinese food (or any food for that matter). so stop going to the chinese buffet.

You may not like the man, but no one can, in all honesty, discredit what he's accomplished. One of the all time greats.

I have the exactl opposite view. I have no problem with him as a person or a player, but I don't think he's as good a QB as most people do. He throws far too many interceptions and makes too many stupid decisions with the football. All of which has contributed mightily to his not getting to the Superbowl all that often.

I second that.
Favre is one of the all-time great QBs, and I love every minute of watching him play. He'll get the hell knocked outta him and get right back up and get in the defender's face. You gotta respect a guy like that.

Favre is what a HOF QB should be. He's so talented and such a natural leader it's scary. Dallas has never had a guy like that behind center-- leadership combined with raw, instinctive talent. He has traits of both Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. Roger was the greatest leader the NFL has ever seen at QB, but Favre simply carries his team.
With Favre, GB has been in contention since 1993. Favre could make a star out of an average receiver-- you didn't have the ineptitude like we had from Troy when Michael and Jay weren't around anymore.
