So, let's say Jack Ruby's hat (http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2009/08/the_perfect_halloween_costume.php) doesn't do it for you. Fine. In that case, Heritage Auction Galleries has another option for your noggin: one of Tom Landry's old fedoras (http://sports.ha.com/common/view_item.php?SaleNo=716&LotIdNo=10001&txtSearch=Dallas%20Cowboys&hdnSearch=true&type=PR-PRTE090209), this one circa 1980-something. Heritage's Noah Fleisher sends word that the trademark hat'll be amongst a handful of Dallas Cowboys items up grabs in the auction house's October Signature Sports Memorabilia Auction (http://sports.ha.com/common/view_item.php?SaleNo=716&LotIdNo=10001&txtSearch=Dallas%20Cowboys&hdnSearch=true&type=PR-PRTE090209). At the moment, it's currently sitting at the $650 mark, but it'll no doubt go for a few dollars more; it's guesstimated to be worth a few thou. Clearly, it's traded hands before -- Landry wrote "Best Wishes, Tom Landry" in the headband -- though it is possible he just liked to leave himself secret inspirational messages.
