Now what????
Yeah we won. And I am glad for that. I hate the skins and want a win over them any time. But here is what sucks. I don't know if Romo wouldn't have thrown a pick in the endzone or not. Don't know if Henson would have or not. But I sure as heck can tell you that I KNOW Vinny can. I've seen it all year. As for Vinny throwing the game winning TD. So? It was a good throw and a good catch. YOu'd think he would get one eventually. And what was Parcells smiling about after that sack on the next to last drive? I about spit. Unbelievable. Don't know what Parcells thinks but I doubt he was thinking they still had a chance. Can't wait to hear this PC.

I'm always glad to win, but how many times do we have to see Vinny sacked before Bill's seen enough? The worst part about winning this game is that Vinny got redemption on that last drive. Now I don't see any way the kids play next week vs. NYG. Parcells has his "see, I told you so" reason for playing Vinny next week. Ugh. We need to find out about QB so I'm disappointed Vinny played this whole game.

BP is determined not to play Romo or Henson. At first I thought he knew something the rest of us did not know about both, and their abilities.
Now I am leaning towards BP not playing them just to make a point with the media and fans.
He probably does know something we don't know,,but I hope we see one of the new guys next week. This season keeps dragging on and on.

I hate the skins and a win over them anytime is great but too bad we won't know anything about our two young QB's. Vinny is terrible!!!!

I think that BP thinks we need to get a FA QB next year. He doesn't think Henson or Romo has what it takes right now to be QB at the Pro level. I think we make a run a Drew Brees.

No, no redemption for Vinny. Not from me and not from most Boys fans.
Thank you for the win, but no redemption for Vinny.

Think about this for a moment.....
IF Testeverde really DOES give us a better thance to win, then I am leaning towards just cutting our dress wearing back-ups right now.
If they can't do better than that.....or can't do better than VT has done all year long, then cut them. If they can't do better than VT has done this year, imagine how our QB play will be next year.
Now, if BP is just doing this as an "I told you so..." thing....a personal thing between him and the media/fans, then he SHOULD be fired.
I am not saying to fire him at this point, but I am saying that if he is putting his personal agenda an front of the team, then be gone with him.
At this point, it's ONE of the two.

Maybe, and Im just guessing, but here is what BP could be thinking:
This season has 2 games left, pointless games at that. Why put Henson or Romo in now? What would it prove if they do good? If they do bad, we are just as screwed, its a no win. Lets finish out this futile year, send them to NFL Europe, give them another full offseason in the same system, THEN evaluate them. Henson was never really "ready" this year, and right now lets not risk making him another Chutch and wait till hes ready i.e. next year.

I couldn't care less about the draft. Well, not really but a win vs. the draft I'll take the win especially over the skins. That said, I would rather have this win with Romo or Henson out there. The draft doesn't really enter this for me. The evaluation of the QBs does. If we had to lose with Henson or Romo, I would still want the evaluation of Romo and Henson to continue.

No, it's a "no win situation" for him and him alone.
Think about it.....if Romo or Henson comes in a tears it up, the media and fans will be saying "I told you so" to him.

The only thing Ive learned is Vinny will be the QB of this team as long as parcells stays. Im glad we won but now I guess after this win Parcells will wanna sign Vinny to a contract extension like Michael Vick got.

Be real, VT will not be the starter next year no matter what JJ says.
Do you really believe BP & JJ are going to tell you what they are going to do in the off season, does that make sense to play the cards before you need too.
I would much rather play 3 good games to end the season, then rise in the draft 4 or 5 places.

Confidence builders huh?
Yeah, Romo and Henson have gained a ton of confidence just listening to BP tell the world how they STILL aren't even as good as a guy that is close to 20 years older than they are.
Don't tell me about confidence....
Let's just get them SOME experience.
They should have been getting experience since mid-season. If their confidence gets shaken, then maybe they don't have the make-up to be an NFL QB.

Have you ever thought that it could be the truth? Maybe thats why he avoids the questions as best he can. Playing Romo today would have been the dumbest thing any coach could have done.
Henson played the worst 30 minutes of football I have seen since Hutchinson.

I'd rather beat Washington with Vinny than lose with Romo or Henson.
As bad as Vinny can be, I don't think Henson or Romo would've been better. If we play Romo and/or Henson next week at the Giants, fine, but as sorry as it sounds, Vinny actually does give us the best chance to win. Today, I wanted to win.
I don't mind as much using next week as an evaluation game, but I really don't expect to see Romo or Henson proving anything.
Just face it, our QB situation is a mess. Henson may have a chance to be a good one, but this year it was probably best to have him just practice and learn. Everyone said we should've done that with Hutch in his first year, but now that we actually do it when in a similar situation, many just want to
b!tch about it.

Get the point about what? Don't tell me that they COULD lose confidence. Just tell me that they suck and leave it at that.
This whole "confidence" thing is totally out of whack. Why should we EVER play a rookie, then? Why did he play Bledsoe? He must have the make-up that BP KNEW wouldn't destroy his confidence.
This is why I say to cut the dress wearing back-ups. I don't want a QB where one game can ruin them for life.

I don't know if either Romo or Henson can be the guy. And in spite of all of the slavering on Parcells nuts that I see; he doesn't know either. We need to find out if thses kids have what it takes to play this game and we have been using the "not against THIS defense" excuse for the last 5 weeks. Look at Ramsey; he took an absolute beating last year under Spurrier and he is back in there playing pretty well. Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Payton Manning, David Carr, Joe Montana, John Elway, Brett Favre and many others all went through it. They all have to go through getting their ashes hauled on the field at some point so we might as well get one of them started. I don't care how long we let them rot on the bench they're still going to play like rookies when they get in the game. I don't want to wake up with a team ready to make a run at the Superbowl except for the unknown quanity of an inexperienced QB. And I simply cannot believe that they could play any worse than Testaverde.

Maybe it isnt about thier confidence, thats my point. He isnt going to come out and say that they suck. Pro coaches dont do that. He sure tries not to speak about them though.
Bledsoe was fresh from college and "had it" I would guess. Romo is probably a Jason Garette(sp) type.

One thing coach has been consistent on...he couldn't give a rat's *** about what the fans and the media thinks as far as who should start.
Anyone who pays close attention to the guy knows that the exact opposite is the case. Everything Parcells does is driven by his enormous need for external validation. From the moment he came in here, the signs have been obvious:
-he had JJ dump Emmitt to ensure that he would be the unchallenged face of the team
-he immediately went to war with other potential challengers to his position as undisputed leader of this team, including Larry Allen (and, to a lesser extent Darren Woodson, who was warned that "no matter what you've done, you've got to prove yourself to me)
-he brings in "Parcells' guys", precisely because any success they have, and bring the team, is directly attributable to him
-he publicly expresses his disdain for "franchise QBs", preferring the bus driver instead, on the theory (one presumes) that winning with a lesser talent makes the coaching look all the more impressive
In short, all of Parcell's moves seem motivated by self-aggrandizement. Refusing to play the kids is no different. He stands to gain nothing, and potentially could lose face, if the kids do better than expected. Moreover, like others that are driven by the need for external approval, he destructively rejects the object of his desire when it appears to him that it might reject him instead if he doesn't act first. The idea that Parcells doesn't give a rat's a$$ about what the fans and media think is a carefully constructed ruse designed to distract us, and protect him, from the fact that he actually cares too much.

The problem is that, while Parcells' willfulness certainly helped recover LA (I'll give you that), I fear that it is now preventing our getting valuable experience for, and an important opportunity to evaluate, our young talent.

Thats true, but there has to be some thing to evaluate. I kind of get the feeling there isnt at this point. Maybe some off season work or the NFLE could change that.
I look to another vet being signed next season.

I agree. Not only have Henson and Romo been evaluated and gained valuable practice time in this offense for this entire season, but they'll both get plenty of practice and evaluation this offseason. If not in Europe, then in the numerous mini-camps, QB schools and then next summer in training camp and preseason.
If either are going to be players in this league, they will have plenty of opportunity to show it and earn their position. Unlike us fans, the coaches have ample time to evaluate them everyday since last July. I think they have a good feel for what they can offer right now.

Parcells himself has said on numerous occasions that you don't really know about the player until you see him in live action, with live bullets flying. I don't think, in the circumstances, anyone can use his opportunity to observe the kids in practice as an excuse for refusing to get them some live action. There may be other excuses (I personally don't think there are), but that's not one.

A few things for you to sort out, being that you're such a big proponent of "logic":
1. Who exactly did Aikman "earn" playing time against in his rookie season? When he was 1-10, had he still "earned" the right to guide the team to 1-11?
2. How does a player that isn't allowed on the field "earn" playing time if, by Parcells' own lights, a player can't prove himself except in live action?
