...Look, I'm ready for the future and I hope like heck that it's Henson or Romo, but I tell you, as aggravated as I was in watching that game, when it's all said and done, I must give the man total respect for gutting it out in the face of real adversity and making the game-winning play.
From all accounts Vinny is total class and does not deserve the derision he's received from the fans. If the fans want to get on Parcell's case, that's fine, but Vinny just goes out there when he's told and does the absolute best job he can do.
Is/was he a great qb? No he wasn't/isn't. But I tell you, the guy is a true professional and I know why Parcells respects the man.
I would like to have him back next year, as our back-up qb and a mentor to our young QBs. I know they can learn a lot from him.

Is VT good? No. Is he the future? No.
Is he doing what if not more than asked? Yes.
I would keep him as a back up/mentor.
That winning pass was a thing of beuaty. :)

Vinny gets far too much of the blame for losing and none when winning.
I agree he isn't the future but he isn't the biggest reason this team failed to make the playoffs this year.

Vinny is an ancient below average QB. I don't want him here, because I think as long as hes here hes going to be starting, and thats something i've seen more than enough of. And I'm sorry, but Vinny had a terrible game today. We won, but Vinny was one of the major reasons we were in the situation to have to make that come from behind victory. If we are going to see bad to horrible QB play, I'd rather see it from someone that still has a legit chance to be playing in 2-3 years time.
I did not want VT at all,but he has done everything he can and his reward[aside from getting paid] is to get boos rained down on him. While anyone who pays to go to the game has that right,it is a sad spectacle to see. :banghead:

And JJs fumble wasnt a huge reason we could have lost to? he scores we dont need to press.
I love JJ but fair is fair.

Vinny is a washed-up fossil of a below-average QB who is only on this team because of his strange love affair with Parcells. Who cares how "classy" he is?
He does not deserve to wear the Star. Period.

JJ had one bad play today, and it was a bad one. Vinny had about a dozen or more. He looks like a rookie QB out there too frequently, which is horrible for a vet with closing on 2 decades of experience. Vinny put up decent statistics today while playing an absolutely attrocious game. Hes lucky he didn't have a couple or three more picks. For a seasoned vet it looks like all you have to do is get some pressure on him and he folds 9 times out of 10.
No, Vinny doesn't deserve respect for doing his job and doing it poorly. I don't think anyone is booing Vinny specifically, except when he makes one of his really horrible plays, which is all to frequent.

"That winning pass was a thing of beuaty. "
That is the kind of pass that win win him the starting job for 2005 and and beyond...... "because he gives us the best chance to win" :banghead:
If we have Vinny or an inexperienced Qb next year it will be worse than it was this year. When are we going to get them some experience or get another Qb? So what if we won the game we lost another opportunity to get Henson some game time. Curly

We are headed to signing a QB for next year, if we are planning on winning a good number of games and making a serious playoff push next year.

I would not be upset if Vinny came back next year as a back up ONLY if the search to up grade the overall talent of the position was thoroughly exhausted.
i.e. there wasn't anyone better out there than Vinny.
Slim chance.

Well, if Vinny was also an injury replacement I could agree with you. Defending Vinny by saying these people are worse isn't a defense.
By QB ranking Vinny is 28th in the NFL this season. By Interceptions hes 29. By in a 3 way tie for 15. By Yardage 14th.
Vinnys best stats make him medicore. If medicore is good enough so be it. Too bad Vinnys not even medicore.

and who decides to put him in there?
doesnt that person deserve as much, if not more of the blame?
