As a father and a trueblue cowboy fan today is a very proud day for me. By way of background My son is 4 and 1/2 years old and a self-confessed cowboy fan. Living here in DC, people are constantly trying to convert him. He has been taught never to use the word stupid unless it is associated with the redskins and he has held true to that. Unfortunately he has not really been that interested to actually watch the game so I figured at this point he is only a fan because I am. well, today that all changed. My wife's family lives in walking distance from us and they invited us over for dinner tonight. Dinner was during the game and they're all redskins fans so I decided to stay home and watch the game by myself while my wife and two boys went there for dinner. Well, when my wife came back home she told me something that made me cry with joy. When the redskins scored and it looked like we would lose my wife and her family got excited my son started crying because he thought we would lose to the skins and he started calling the redskins stupid. when we came back and won he ran around the house screaming we won we won. The cowboys are the best. He actually wathced the last 5 minutes of the game and has now been indoctrinated as a true cowboy fan. Life is good.

Still you can not gloat too much unless you have a really comfortable couch.
Actually this game was not much to watch, a battle between 2 teams who are going nowhere fast. With the Cowboys I do not even know if it will be any better next year. Curly

Great post Dallas. Living here in D.C. I go through the same thing, trying to raise my son the right way with all the bad influences (Redskins fans) surrounding us.

He's three and is a Cowboys fan, but is also always very concerned about "who's winning and who's losing". It's been a tough time this year because far too many times I've had to tell him that the Cowboys are losing.

Like your son, mine knows enough to inform anyone wearing Redskins garb that the "Redskins are the villians." So he was very wrapped up in watching the Cowboys beat the "villian Redskins."

Throughout the latter parts of the game, he knew things weren't going well. Then, after the miracle TD, he jumped around the house with me cheering "woo hoo, the Cowboys won!" It was a great moment. The whole night he was beaming over the victory.

It was a great Christmas present.

To heck with all the negative, fair weather Cowboys fans here. This was a great win. If you can't see this and appreciate it for what it is, then you're not half the fan of a three year old kid! :D

P.S. Dallas, I've got this one burned on DVD to show at next year's tailgate. See you there!!!
