Do we trade Morgan, hoping to recoup that 3rd we spent on Henson?
Key, Glenn, Copper, and Crayton, not including if we draft a playmaking WR in the first, should make Morgan expendable.
The 3rd would be a good spot for an OL or undersized DE/LB type.
Even if we only get a 4th, we'd add some wiggle room to move back up if we trade down in the first or second rd for extra picks.

We'd be lucky to get a conditional 6th rounder for Morgan in all honesty.
He'll be TC fodder next year.

What makes you think we could get a 3rd or 4th of Morgan?
I mean what exacly has he done this season to warrant that type of draft pick?

I did say hoping. :D
STL, KC, BAL all need WR help and he was a 2nd rd pick, so it's a how big a need a team has deal.
Was Feeley worth a 2nd? ;)

Our best bet would be trading Quincy Morgan straight up for another veteran could-be.
NFL teams value draft picks like gold. Quincy is spoiled goods at this point. Draft picks aren't. It's like chewing someone else's gum. I'd be surprised if we could get anything more than a 6th rounder.

How about for David Garrard?
I still think it's too early to overvalue the likes of Copper and Crayton. Having a young, backup receiver that is actually capable of catching a ball (read: a player not named Randal Williams or Dedric Ward) doesn't mean they're necessarily worthy of having their role significantly expanded.
Both players need to continue improving before having a No. 3 position handed to them. Morgan's not the best of competition, but he does have a few skins on the wall on this league -- at least more than those guys.

Since when does STL need WR help? They have Holt and Bruce, and they drafted Shaun McDonald and Kevin Curtis a couple of years ago, and both seem to be doing pretty well. Curtis has 26 catches this year. Not bad for a player on a team where Holt and Bruce are hogging all the balls. McDonald has 35 catches this year. That's not bad for a 3rd and 4th WR.

Exactly. Copper has shown that he's nothing more then a good special teams player right now. Crayton made two big plays in 1 game. Let's not get his bust ready for the HoF just yet.

That's the thing about Morgan. He was supposed to be our #3 WR, but was forced into a starting role when TG got hurt. I think Morgan will be much more effective as the #3 next year. Him and TG will help open up the middle of the field for Keyshawn and Witten next year, hopefully.

I think it's too early to give up on Morgan. He's still learning the system and did come off a hamstring pull, something that can take a long time to fully recover from.
He's dropped a few, but he's also made some tough and valuable catches as well. Plus, he blocks well. I'd like to see what he can do as the slot receiver first.

Yep, I like Morgan...
Copper has shown he doesn't have any instincts on KO returns...Crayton has shown glimpses...
But my #1 would still be Braylon Edwards....Watch Michigan...

I don't really buy the 'learning the system' argument for a WR. In general they run routes, those routes are the same no matter what system they are in. They may have different names, but a curl is still a curl. Morgan couldn't get open in Cleveland, and he was pretty familiar with their system. What 'system' allows a WR to get seperation from a CB and catch the damned ball?

I agree. Copper's play was an enticement. He's only a possibility at this point. Crayton is even more remote altho I expect both to have their chances at competing for a roster spot.
Morgan just hasn't been with us long enough to evaluate. He will need to work at staying at number three. Which he may or may not do. I think he'd better ratch it up some.
I think our best hope is for all three to step up to a WR3 level.
And it's always possible for a gifted draft choice to fall to us. With so many needs and holes to fill I wouldn't be shocked to see us draft a WR in the first.
