It appears that we will finish in 2nd place this year in the division. Has anyone been able to figure out what that means for next year's games? Don't we play the AFC West next season?

I guess the Chiefs will be the Thanksgiving game, since Denver made that trip in 2001.

Seems like a very tough schedule to me.
I miss the days when teams used to see Dallas on their next year's schedule and mark it down as a "loss" . . . .

I actually like it...the NFC West is terrible this yr and will probably be equally as bad next yr...the AFC West has a very good Chargers team, but everyone else is on the slide...KC has to overhaul their defense and is getting on up their in age on offense...the Raiders are going nowhere...Denver doesnt scare me at all, especially since Shanahan has already said Fake Plummer was coming back as QB...
in the NFC East, I am guessing Washington will be improved, but we say that every yr and it doesnt happen...the Giants are a total mess and have no 1st rd pick, plus are reportedly not in all that good of cap shape...the Eagles should still be good, but a 4th postseason flop in a row could have an effect on them in 05 too...that leaves likely games vs Minnesota (home) and Carolina or New Orleans away...those games are winnable
we need to fix some spots on defense, solve the QB issue, upgrade the OL a tad and maybe add a playmaking WR and we will be in good shape...
I just wonder if Mr Parcells is the guy to get it done though

If thats what we have to do to be in good shape I wonder what we have to do to be in great shape? ;)
Regardless, the bottomline is, just as it's been the last number if years, getting the ball in the endzone. Until we can start scoring TD's with some degree of consistency our ability to beat just about anyone will be in question.
If Vinny starts next year......all the games we play could be a loss.
The AFC west isn't as bad as some here think.
If the Raiders keep their core of young recievers.....they will be tough...Norv Turner will straighten out that offence. They need a RB though
KC is a powerhouse on offence....Holmes will be back healthy and if they ever pick up a half decent WR....they will be tough.
Denver and their chop blocking techniques always gives us fits.
The Chargers seem like a well balanced team...they are young....and we can assume they will get better.
When our defence faces offences that are above average.....we fall flat on our faces. We don't make enough adjustments....all we do is blame our CB's.
We have been doing that since Prime Time was here taking half the field away.....it was...."we need another CB excuse"
Next year could easily be another 5-11,6-10 season......we just have to many holes to fill....our OL is overrated and can't run block Allen is getting older...Adams has regressed....and the rest are unproven.
Our DL consist of a solid DE and a very good Dt who is getting up in years....I see no propects being developed there. Our LB's will probally be minus Coakley...and Bradie James has shown me nothing this year.
In our secondary...its Roy Williams and Newman....both played inconsistent this year. Its so bad that we are now praising Lynn " The Bang Bus driver" Scott....because Tony Dixon has been a major disappointment.
Franzier is solid....but I'm not sold on him being a everyday starter.

Trying to figure out why all of those would be losses? I agree Vinny has not had a good year but Dallas losing was more than just Vinny, it appears he is getting the blame for every loss yet we have a defense that has been pathetic through out most of the season. Even in the 1st Philly game Vinny played pretty well but each time we closed the gap with a TD the defense would allow Philly to march right back down the field for a TD. Believe me I'm not letting Vinny off the hook but Vinny should not be taking all the blame for this bad season there is ample blame to go around for many of our players not just Vinny.
