Okay, first they have more impact players than any team in the NFC EAST:

Offense: McNabb, Owens, WEstbrook, and a host of first round OL.
Defense: Dawkins, Shepperd, Kearse, Simon, and other top picks.

Their offense is star studded, and their defense allowed fewer points than any defense in the league, or close to it.

How did they manage to sign T.O. and Kearse in FA, players we all thought would have ruined our salary cap status, and yet they are expected to have plenty of cap room this season too?

Yesterday I heard it reported that:

1. They expect 19 of their 22 starters back without any trouble at all.
2. They expect to have about 15 million in cap room this offseason.
3. They have 5 draft picks in the first 3 rounds.

Maybe you guys already knew this, but I was shocked. With a good coach, a great DC, and a front office that has been making very good personnel decisions lately, it looks like they are positioned to be a powerhouse for quite some time.

Dallas needs to not only spend money in free agency and maximize that extra first rounder this year (remember we don't have a 3rd), but the Cowboys can't afford any misses in personnel decisions either...our moves need to be precise and accurate if we hope to be anything more than a wild card team for the rest of this decade.

What philly does is they get rid of probowlers when they only have one or two good years left. They are gonna get rid of corey simon this year, just like they got rid of bobby taylor, troy vincent and duce staley last year. THey know no loyalty, plus they draft good.

While Philly was building a consistant orginization ,we were pissing away draft choices and reaching for needs not to mention shuffling coaches.Despite all the calls for Bill and Zimmers heads we need the stability and direction they provide. While I disagree with many choices Parcells has made he will rebuild this team quickly........ps:Philly has benefited greatly from a weak NFC east, that will not last. :jints:

They got rid of Douglas too. Then after he signed a huge contract elsewhere and bombed out, the signed him back for peanuts.

I always had Jeff Lurie pegged as a penny pincher but the guy is making all the right moves.

It's not luck.
They have great offensive and defensive systems.

Trotter went to Washington and was a bust.
He comes back to Philly and makes the Pro Bowl - even tho I still don't think he deserves to be there...

Hugh Douglas, AJ Feely, those corners...
the offensive and defensive systems in Philly makes average players look great.

Kudo's to the Philly coaching staff...
but personally I don't think they draft any better than anyone else.
They just go after athletes and throw them in a great system.

Yep. Kudo's. You're right. I think they do draft well and make great moves. And practicing with good to great players makes everyone better. Success breeds success.

Excuse me while I go hang myself.

And they have Shawn Andrews coming back next year, who -- as much as I hate to say it -- I think will become a very good, maybe even dominant player.

But oh well, they're the Eagles... They'll keep finding ways to lose. :D :iggles:
