Just watching the bowl game between Colorado and UTEP, and they mentioned the CU QB, Klatt played 3rd base for the Padres before going to CU.
Look for the Cowboys to take him late in the first or early second. The kid isn't very good, so I'm sure Jerry is licking his chops right no.
Bye, Bye Henson and Romo!!!!!!!!!!

This is exactly why people should be glad Parcells is in charge regardless how they feel about Vinny, etc.
Please...no more Jerry/Larry drafts!!

I thought I heard them say that was Carson Palmer's brother quarterbacking UTEP.
I'm sure that Price is enjoying the topless joints in El Paso, they have some good ones, I've been to most of them.

But truthfully, why, as we sit here now, were we better off starting VT this year instead of one of the 2 younger guys?
Every young QB takes their lumps sooner or later. They all do.
I still say we should have played the kids at least a little more to see what we have.
We still don't know and we're 6-9, possibly 6-10 in spite of that.
My guess (and that's all it is) is that BP will be shopping for another QB HEAVY this offseason.

All I can say is that is what you would do, Parcells does not want to throw these QB to the wolves. Neither opinion is right or wrong, I have seen coaches sit a young QB a year or even 2 and I have them start young QB's right off the bat. I would like to see Henson as well but if Parcells feels it is better to let him sit, watch and learn then I have to say he has a better ideal of where Henson is at this stage of his developement due to working with him 6 to 7 days a week from training camp to today.
Dooms, although your thoughts are in the minority on the topic, you are probably much closer to the actual truth. Sports fans are so fickle and renowned for being impatient and that's what has occurred this season. I wish we had a nickel every time the phrase "41 year old quarterback" was uttered this season. Thus, BPs early season cryptic comment about finding a good QB at the local dime store.
Me, Id love to know that Henson is the long-term answer as the Cowboys franchise QB. But we dont see his workouts at VR and I think Parcells believes at this point in time, Drew would be a "deer in the headlights" of opposing defenses.
Of course, we could be way wrong on the matter, though.

I agree. Henson does need to play as part of the development and that time will come but right now he just needs to continue working and learning as much as he can his time will come. This has not been a big issue for me because I do think this is the best course of action for Henson given his absents from the game.

Parcells brought in Henson and Romo. Neither are good enough to get playing time on a 6-9 team with a struggling Vinny as the starter, so what confidence do you have Bill will find a good QB.

Parcells has had ONE year to acquire QB talent. The first year he went with Jerry's trash. Maybe Henson or Romo pan out, maybe they don't. We just don't know yet. Not enough data. I do know one thing...I have ZERO confidence that Jerry/Larry will find a good QB since their track record over many years has proven that out.

I'm actually on the record as stating that after we were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, I would be pro Henson or Romo as the starter for the remainder of the season. Why Bill has chosen not to start either of them is a mystery to me. But I'm not, at this point, willing to bash Parcells for starting Vinny because I don't know all the facts and can only assume there is a method to his madness by continuing to start the Vinster. And until Bill extinguishes his credibility, who am I to say he doesn't know what he's doing.
I also agree that he will be looking at QB alternatives this off season as well. It never hurts to have options...especially if the ones you have can't even make the starting lineup after the team's been eliminated from post season consideration.

I agree - of course opinions can't be wrong - they are just that - opinions. I look at it differently - that's all.
IMO - we know nothing more about Romo/Henson than we did in training camp and we are staring at a 6-10 record anyways. That is where I get irked.
Just an opinion.

Granted. Thing is you say we, who is we? we the fans, I would agree we don't know. Parcells I do think has a clue as to where Henson is at this time. This was from todays Cowboys website "Parcells believes Henson and Romo give him something to work with, provided he can "nurture" both players instead of, as he views it, mortgaging their potential to appease the masses.
"I could have traded them for two things," Parcells said. "I could have traded them for growing pains or I could have traded them for major surgery.
"There's a downside. It's not all upside. You can do things and put someone in at the wrong time - that's not the most prudent thing to do even though it would satisfy the curiosity of the mainstream."

When I say 'we' I mean everyone - coaches, fans, everyone.
You just don't know what you have until a player gets actual PT IMO.
There is no replacement for actual PT.
If Henson is THAT BAD in practice, that would be one thing, but that is not what I am hearing.
Just a different philosophy is all.
