There are gonna be lotsa close games and some OT games next year. A good kicker can make a big difference. We have a good punter. Now we just need a good kicker.
I dont know about all yall but I really dont want a big game comin down to Billy Cundiff havin to make any field goal past 25 yards to win the game. I have seen better legs on a table then what Cundiff has. He has a weak leg.
Dallas really needs a strong leg kicker who is accurate. It shouldnt be hard to get a better kicker then Cundiff.

I think Matt Bryant will be the kicker in 2005. I think they will try to sign him after the season is over.

Cundiff is alright, his kickoffs have gotten better over the season. But, Cundiff will be treated the same every training camp under Parcells. He'll never be given the outright nod to be the kicker on the team. He will always be competing in camp.

I have been on the Mike Nugent bandwagon all year and still think we should spend a 2nd day draft pick to get him. It solves our kicking problems for years and years instantly.

He's also great on kickoffs. Did you see his performance in the Alamo Bowl? I realize it was in a dome, but good gosh. Even when his team was penalized, and he was forced to kickoff from the NFL distance, it went seven yards into the end zone.

Nugent sounds like a good grab if we could get him in the draft, a lot of teams have settled their kicker situation for years but getting guys high in the dradf like the Raiders and Janikowski and Detroit with Hansen, Denver with Elam.
That being said after seeing Parcells operate in the NFL and his practical loathing to play rookies I just can't see him drafting an "unproven" rookie kicker, I get the feeling he's rather get a "safe" veteran, nothing special just something to make him feel more secure.

At least Nugent plays on the special teams. That should warrant a 7th round draft pick at least.

It was a pretty phenominal performance. He kicked off six or seven times, and all of the kickoffs -- but one, I think -- went at least seven yards into the end zone.

I hate to say it, because I've been a Cundiff supporter ever since he's been here...
But he needs to go. I'm surprised whenever he makes a FG longer than 40 yards, and not at all surprised when he misses them...and it should be the opposite.
He's way too inconsistent. "But kickers don't just grow on trees!" :o

Cundiff gives me heartburn. Always has, and always will. :jints:
Like Hoss, I'm not a fan of kickers.

I saw some of his kickoffs when he played my Hoosiers. With the wind at his back, they were going through the uprights with room to spare. And into the wind were landing out of the back of the endzone.

couldn't agree more...I would applaude even a 3rd round pick on him ,he is that good.
