Anyone plan on seeing this?? I loved the book as a kid and I think the hand made costumes look really cool. I think I will check it out tonight.

I'll probably see it tomorrow. It's getting pretty good reviews but people say it's not as upbeat as the trailer makes it out to be. I just reread the book to get in the moon....took a whopping 2 minutes.

Does the kid get eaten or mauled at any point?

I want to take my five year old, because this is one of his favorite books, but it will probably be another week or so. Keep me posted on how it turns out!

Really I have no interest in this. I don't really recall the book, but the trailers certainly don't do anything for me.

I want to see this as well. I remember the book pretty vividly from childhood. I immediately recognized the creatures in the trailer before I even knew what the movie was.

For some reason whenever I see the previews I get incredibly pissed off. I vaguely remember the books from when I was young, but something must have happened involving the books, because I always change the channel when the previews come on. LOL I will never watch that movie.

Alas, yes it is. I detest cute children in movies. ;)

Fantastical movie. Perfectly done. I was ready to be let down, but I loved it.
