Any pick at all in the first round would have been great, simply because we gave up nothing to get it. Getting the 19th pick, along with our own pick, is awesome.

Is it te 19th pick? Is that set in stone? Lot of other teams playing to finish 8-8 at the moment....

I was wondering that too. Baltimore won today 9-7, Jax 8-7 still has a game to play, Denver is 9-6 with a game to play, and Seattle is 8-7 with a game to play.

Is the 19th pick correct? The Bills, Ravens and Jax could all have the same record and out of the playoffs.

The Ravens beat the Bills earlier in the year. I am not sure if that is a tiebreaker or not.

If Jacksonville loses, then it's the 19th pick, if they win it's the 18th pick based on strength of schedule. Jacksonville, Baltimore and Denver all have a higher strength of schedule.

In reverse order based on the team that established the record against the stronger schedule is a better(lower choice) team.

Can anyone help w/ SOS for 9-7 Buffalo the other 9-7s and the other 7-9s I'm assume we handle the worthless Giants.

:flagwave:But, what if Dallas loses to the Giants tonight, would an Oakland win over Jax help the early pick?

If Dallas loses and Oakland wins, Dallas moves ahead of Oakland for the draft pick. Buffalo's pick can be no higher than 20th and only then if Seattle, Jax, and Denver win. I hope Oakland beats Jax.

If we lose yes.

BTW Buffalo's opponents are 128-124 with 4 undecided 2 are tied 1 winning and 1 losing currently. They will be near the top of the 9/7 group due to the records of New England and Pittsburgh. :(

So it is likely to be 129-125 with 2 undecided.

Seattle is already in the playoffs, therefor Buffalo would pick 20th ahead of Seattle. But since Baltimore and Buffalo have the same record, they go to a sttregth of schedule tiebreaker which gives Buffalo the 19th pick. If Jacksonville wins, there will be a three team tiebreaker which Buffalo would also win. Best case is the 18th pick, worst case is the 19th pick.

The playoffs change the scenario in a way I still don't get. I was just looking at the records. If the pick we take from Buffalo gets better than, of course, I'm all for it!

I still can't figure out a scenario where Dallas picks any higher than 10th (based on opp. win %).

The 2 picks will end up pretty much where we expected before the season. Just that the two teams'(Dal-Buff) positions are flip-flopped. Our pick will likely be in the low teens or lower and Buffalo's at 19. Barring some kind of draft day disaster, we will get 2 impact players with those picks. Those 2 picks along with the early 2nd could net us 3 talented opening day starters.

3 picks of the top 42-45 picks or so ain't bad. That is 3 good players. Add 3-4 more starters thru free agency and we will be on our way. I'm pretty stoked for next year already.
