Well, I could have told you that about Vinny.

But look for Zimmer to likely be retained because of the flashes our D showed in 2 of the 14 games. I mean this is Parcells running things after all.

Question for you. How much pressure did we generate with 4 down lineman? How bad is the Giants offense line? Terrible, but Zimmer's gotta go. Do you want him to blitz every down? Do you want that 4th string CB getting burnt by the 4th string WR from the Giants? But Zimmer's gotta go.

Simple, we have no PASS RUSH. We had one sack today while the Giants had four. You can blame our secondary all you want but even Deion would get burned if a QB and a receiver have all day to work together. Both our defensive ends are incapable of rushing the passer. Suprise Suprise...Greg Eliis failed to notch double digit sacks for yet another season. It's obvious Wiley has to go but what isn't obvious to many of you is that Ellis needs to be replaced also. We need to bench Ellis and start two players who are capable of putting real pressure on a QB.

How long have we been waiting for a pass rush. We have relied on blitzing year after year and finally it stopped working. Even when we blitzed, we were barely getting to the QB. That is why he will be back next season unless they switch to a 3-4.

I looked at the final stat sheet. Zimmer had ZERO Tackles, Zero Sacks, and Zero Ints/Fumble recoveries. As a matter of fact, you wouldn't even know Zimmer played in the game if you just looked at the game's defensive statistics.

Zimmer didn't even defend one measly pass tonight! :confused:

He sure let the rest of the defense down tonight by his poor play!

This didn't just happen this year; this occurred last season too. The difference last year is people respected our cornerbacks in man coverage. They wouldn't throw on Edwards and Neumans early in the season and thus we could get away with bltizing. However, Miami taught the league that our cornerbacks were not as good as advertised; Newman was fast but didn't know how to use his hands and Edwards lacked catch up speed. If you can't pass rush with your DL, a good team will take your defense apart.
