View Full Version : If you want to fix this team, fix the OL and DL first

and then put Henson under Center.

When we need a stop in any game, we can't put pressure on a QB without blitzing. We have NO depth on the DL, and we need 2 new starters as well.

Our OL is just poor, esp. on the right side.

Heck, we played a rookie FA from Penn in front of our 2nd rounder from a few years ago.

I don't know how BP is going to be able to get all the DL, Saftey, CB, OL, back-up RB, WR, etc. in one off-season.

But IMO, we've first got to build the Offensive and Defensive lines.

And get a DC that isn't so damn passive, and a FS, and some WR's that provide playmaking abilities, and the list goes on and on.

Exactly. Just think if they actually blocked for JJ?

In three years we have filled one hole....................RB.

The holes that need fixing have been the same for years.............Great GM doing his job. LOL

Agreed, although over 800 yards with little to no blocking sure is impressive.

That's what I mean.

JJones got his yards often enough IN SPITE of poor OL play.

We've got some skilled guys in Witten, J Jones, Glenn, Key.

But our OL and DL are terrible.

JJ/BP MUST significantly improve the trenches or it really doesn't matter if it's Henson, Romo, VT, or whoever.

You dominate the line play and you win. It's that simple. What happened tonight was beyond my comprehension. No way we should get pushed around like that. If we don't fix both sides of the line, it will only be more of the same next year.

And if we don't fix the DL, Henson is going to be playing from behind all season. A true recipe for disaster.

I agree. We are set at Center and RT - even though Flozell is painfully vulnerable to the speed rush. Larry Allen can barely walk. The right side is a big question mark. Hopefully we'll sign a couple of top notch Offensive Lineman.

Why do you think Jerry and Bill are going to be able to solve this problem. Look at the talent BP has brough in on DL - Eaton, Ogbogu, Coleman, Wiley - all terrible. Look at who he has brought in on the OL - Johnson, Rogers, Peterman, Tucker, Noll, DiNapoli - only Johnson has been adequate thus far.

These areas of the team will not improve until we hire a real GM - neither BP nor JJ are qualified for the job and it is crushing this franchise.

We will be a laughingstock into the forseeable future and that makes me pretty damn sad. This used to be a great franchise.

I think we need to bring in at least one guy on the OL via FA.

Maybe that will work out as well as Wiley did.
