I've seen it in most supermarkets around here. It's easily available.
Last time I had it, maybe in the early 90's, it wasn't bad. Nothing special to me, but I lean more toward ales.

I like dark beers. Shiner Bock (don't get that around here), but my absolute favorite is probably Negra Modelo. Why do I have to like the stuff that is probably the worst for you?!?!? :laugh2:
I like Ales too, but sometimes I tire of the taste of them, but they are a good change of pace for me.

Shiner is my favorite. That was one of the best parts about moving to VA from NY. I'm a big fan of Negra Modelo, too. I get one occasionally when we're at our favorite Mexican place.

A modern pilsener has a very light, clear colour from pale to golden yellow, and a distinct hop aroma and flavour. Czech pilseners tend toward a lighter flavour (good examples being Pilsner Urquell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilsner_Urquell) and Staropramen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staropramen)), while those in a German style can be more bitter (particularly in the north, e.g. Jever (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jever_%28beer%29)) or even "earthy" in flavour. Distinctive examples of German pilseners are Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren Jubiläums Pils, Augustiner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustiner_Br%C3%A4u) Pils, Beck's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beck%27s), Bitburger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitburger), Flensburger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flensburger_Brauerei) Pilsener Fürstenberg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C3%BCrstenberg_Brewery), Henninger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henninger)'s Kaiser Pilsner, Holsten (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holsten), König (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6nig_Brauerei) Pilsner, Königsbacher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6nigsbacher) Pilsener, Krombacher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krombacher), Radeberger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeberger), Schwelm's Schwelmer Pils, Veltins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veltins), Warsteiner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsteiner), Wurzburger (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wurzburger&action=edit&redlink=1), and Wernesgrüner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernesgr%C3%BCner). On the other hand, Dutch (Amstel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amstel_Brewery), Heineken (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heineken)) and Belgian pilseners (Jupiler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupiler), Stella Artois (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stella_Artois)) have a slight sweet taste.
