the one in my area recently closed, don't know how long ago it was, as I hardly ever go to the area where it was at

I was shocked, although I had read on the Internet that a lot would be closing up shop, but still, a major entity gone away...crazy

anyone see the same thing in your area?

I drove past a Blockbuster about 3 weeks ago and I was blown away that they actually still exist. With NetFlix and Cable's OnDemand why in hell would anyone go to Blockbuster?

also the Circuit City in my shopping mall, or what used to be Circuit City is closed out, but the building is still empty with a huge, Circuit City sign hanging on the front lol

The Circuit City near me is now an HH Gregg. I have never heard of that store before.

I knew Circuit City was going to close. Their employees were paid commission and I absolutely hated them for it.

I always went to Best Buy instead. I didn't have some idiot always breathing down my neck trying to sell me something. Its bad enough that I have to go through that crap every few years when I get a new car.

It's supposed to be a Best Buy type of store.

That's just a damn shame. With a few more years of maturity under your belt, being a Blockbuster clerk may have been a good career opportunity for you.

Blockbuster offers the same service at Netflix (with the advantage of in-store exchange), and Cable doesn't offer blu-rays, and pay per view is expensive.

All of the Blockbusters in my area are still going strong.

the blockbuster in my town went out of business a couple of years ago.
