What about Bates as our Defensive Coordinator, with the idea being that he would be groomed to replace Parcells? He did a very good job in his short stint in Miami, has coached a very good defence there and also has Cowboy connections. Thoughts?

I also dont believe Zimmer is going anywhere, BP seems to have a big liking for him if you heard him talk about MZ

Last I heard he doesn't not want a Coordinator role and was hoping to receive a head coaching gig in college or NFL.
