In FA and the draft dont expect anything real excitin like a big name WR or QB or anythings like that. I think Parcells is gonna be lookin to use the draft and FA on the trenches and LB. Yep OL DL and LB. Also look for him to go after a FS and FB.

Parcells will go after OL and DL first. We cant protect our QB and we cant rush the other QB. Julius Jones will be unreal with a better OL and if we know that Parcells obviously does. A improved OL will also really help in Parcells goin with Drew Henson to.

DL. We cant rush the passer at all. I think Zimmer is as good as gone but even with that I still think Parcells will be lookin for the best improvements he can for DL. The NFL isnt gonna let CBs play like they should be allowed to so Parcells will do the next best thing get some guys that can harass the QB.

LB. We cant get by on these midgets we have for LBs. Parcells already gave us a idea of what kinda LB he want with Brady James but it doesnt look like James will work. Look for Parcells to go after some big LBs 6'2" to 6'4" and 245 to 260 lbs. Guys who can actually bust threw the OL instead of gettin swatted like a fly.

FS - We really need one. This will let Roy play SS.

FB - we dont have a good FB. I wouldnt be surprised to see Bill go after one of the top FBs in the draft.

K - Nugent could be a Cowboy.

If Parcells can really improve the OL and DL alone I think that there puts us as a play off contender right away.

Dont be surprised at all to see Parcells trade down with the #11 pick and get some teams 1st and their 2nd rounder or at worse 3rd rounder of this year.

Also dont expect Brees or Rivers in Dallas. I dont see it. Brees could be a one year fart in the wind and he barely has average arm strength. Parcells likes to throw deep and that is somethin I wouldnt want Brees doin much of. Philip Rivers. It has taken some time for the staff to work that sidearm release outta Drew Henson. He has come a long way with it but still has a ways to go. Philip Rivers has a real low release and barely has average arm strength. Plus Rivers has the mobility of the statue of Liberty and that wont help either.

Dont expect a Alex Smith a Leinert or a Aaron Rodgers. None of those guys could help this team nearly as much as a much improved OL DL and LBs.

Just my thoughts. I could be totally wrong but this is what I think will hap.

I agree that the FA period should and will be for the defensive front seven... I've been so sick of our toy poodle size LBs for SOOOO long it's not even funny. Don't get me wrong I've loved to watch Dat make those hits in the backfield and Coakley picking off that slot pass and racing for the end zone... The time is over for the bugs. It's time to get some BIG DOGS!! I'd love to see DJ from UT in the rush LB position or Ahmad Brooks shoring up the defense... Either one of those guys would fit my bill and surely give Roy "The Hammer" time to work his chaos as well.

Your free safety I've already got my eye on. Dallas should go out and grab Donovan "head-hunter" Darius of Jax and set him beside Roy W. Would make for one scary backfield, all they need after that is one RCB.

I was SOOO pissed that we let go of Jamar Martin FB. He was the top run blocking FB from the draft in 02. Since he was let go in Dallas, he's been a starter in Miami all year I believe. I remember in the pre-season game against KC he blew up one LB and that LB fell into another defender and Martin proceeded to mow them both down. Sure wish they had that choice back.

I'll damm well scream if they trade down again!!! I don't see Dallas being competent enough to grab those second day draft gems. It's been ten years of BS every year, save two of those, and I'm tired of Spazznola talking up guys who never see the field... When Dallas drafts and then let's go of 4th and 5th round picks only to see NO-ONE take flyers on them and they wind up back on the practice squad, seems to me there is lots of incompetence in the talent evaluation room at Valley Ranch.

Brees might be a one year wonder, but no way SD lets him go... They are still trying to make up for that 12 million dollar signing bonus they gave Ryan Leaf. SD wont make a mistake and let Brees walk, plus letting go or trading Rivers would financially handicap that team... Look for SD to push the hell out of Rivers and have him go head to head with Brees in camp next year with Brees making one year of franchise player money. Best man wins for regular season job.

I like agree pretty much with everything you had to say here. I also think that if the guy we really want isnt at 11 drop down 4-6 picks and try and get a 2nd or 3rd round too. I am also a FIRM beliver in the play of both lines. I think they set the tone, and can dictate how a game goes. You have really good points, and I can tell they are well thought out. I can also see this year the Boys bucking a trend, and actually drafting a kicker.
Good Post.

I agree that we have to improve LB play. Ours are past their prime, not getting it done, etc.

However - gotta fix the d-line, too.......a LB depends on the DLine to pick up blocks - there is not a LB in the league that can take on a 6-4, 285lb guard.

wolverine this one of the first times that i agree with you. i read plenty of your posts. now i also believe our first three picks will be a ol , dl, and lb not in any certain order. we might trade down if parcells and jones do not like the pick at 11 or think that they can pick up the player or certain players later. i think we will end up picking our first pick at around 17-20. then our second first will be with one of the playoff teams in the lower 20s. we need a proven tackle or guard. the right side of the oline is a mess. i would like the lb johnson but i think he will be gone in the top ten.

I'd like to see the Cowboys come out of the first round with one each of:

Alex Barron
Elton Brown
Marcus Mcneil

and

Mathias Kiwanuka
Rod Wright
Anttaj Hawthorne

We believe in him. A true pass rusher - I want him here.
