I was about to post something similar. New Orleans run defense is one of their weak links. It's still early in the game, but hopefully, more Cowboys fans here who are afraid of the Saints will see this as well.

one thing about New England's offense that I wish our offense had more of - they have excellent check-down routes and they aren't afraid to play the dump-down/YAC game all the way down the field.

Sometimes a short pass is just as good as a run.

without looking for big play and that way
keep the ball
keep NO offense off the field
make the NO defense tired

Completely agree. A prime example of that was when Moss went deep, and Brady checked down to Welker. He got 5-6 yards off that instead of nothing, because there was a checkdown receiver.

Running the ball and throwing checkdowns, giving their receivers a chance to run after the catch. Perfect way to beat the Saints.

And that is PITIFUL coverage on the punt. Crayton wouldn't score on that one without some extra blockers but with Newman on the field he could run with him.

Obviously, but our defense won't have a breakdown like that. That was ridiculous. The safety bit on nothing because there was a LB right there to cover the right seam.

Samuel is not the answer. The Patriots problem is they continued to keep Bruschi, Seau, and guys like Rodney Harrison instead of getting some younger players ready. Now they have over half of their defense starting for the first time in their careers and not seeing the field much before that.

This is why I'm glad the Cowboys are drafting starting-caliber depth, but I'd wish they see the field more.

The more and more I see it I realize now that the Cowboys have the right approach to drafting and developing players these last few years. It's like baseball in the sense that young players develop in the minors first then they prove themselves when they get the call to play in the majors.

Well, I'm not going to slurp the Saints like some Cowboys fans, however, it's clear that Newman and Jenkins will need to wear their big boy pants when we play them - I caveat this by saying that this doesn't change REGARDLESS of the opponent...we've played quite a few top-flight receivers this year and they've done very well. I'm happy we have a guy like Jenkins stepping up and Newman still able to move with good speed. Patriots defense just looks lost - that's what happens with inexperienced guys.
