But Henson would have been a sure first rounder, let's give him a few more years to develop. You can't just give up on him. Plus you don't want ot spend that kind of money on a QB.....we have too many holes. In the meantime we can get stop gaps at QB for cheap.
Yeah right......let's go out and get Hasselbeck or Brees with the money we have.

if he is franchised it will be less about money and more about forfeiting the future - as in the top draft picks we finally find ourselves with an abundance of. no thanks.

Just say NO to Brees, Hasselbeck is what we need, BP needs to call his dad and tell him to get his boy down to Big D. I was hoping Seattle would either lose or barely win so they wouldnt be so worried about getting Hasselbeck back next year I just hope they let him test FA and we jump all over him.

Seattle just doesn't have any other options other than keeping Hasselbeck, so I don't see him coming free.

I guess I should've added the stipulation, if Seattle lets him go.
Come here Hasslebeck, our WR's will catch the ball ;)

I'm on this bus. Get it done Bill. I feel bad for the Hasselbeck. Where else should he put the damn ball?
hasslebeck might want to leave cause im sure hes sick of dealing with his wrs dropping balls every single game. Also alexander is a free agent so i think what alexander does has a huge impact on what matt does

Hopefully with Seattle losing . . . Holmgren gets fired and the new coach doesnt like Hasslebeck . . .
Hey . . . its possible . . .

In Terry, Keyshawn, and Witten's hands. Thats exactly where he should put it.

Seattle is in an interesting position. I'd still bet they put the tag on Walter Jones. With Jones, Hasslebeck and Alexander all UFA they have to get at least one of them signed asap. I think Alexander is going to hit the market and go to the highest bidder.

If your WR's kept dropping them, would you???Well that's funny and all but I've seen several Seattle games and he NEVER seems to throw the ball downfield. Can he?

Well that's funny and all but I've seen several Seattle games and he NEVER seems to throw the ball downfield. Can he?It's a WCO. The system is not designed for a lot of downfield passes. Ideally the WR would catch the ball about 5 yards out and RUN downfield with it. Still I see your point, even WCO teams have to play down the field some.

Does he ever throw the ball downfield?
1. His first name isn't Vinny
2. He isnt 41.
3. He can be mobile.
4. He won't lead the league in INTs.
5. He will take this team to the playoffs.
6. The back of his jersey doesn't read TESTAVERDE.

THAT is really the question that is on my mind about him.To be under 60% completion throwing short passes all the time is not too good. How many passes do his receivers drop?

as much as i would want hasselbeck there is no way seahawks let him go. who is going to start for them trent dilfer i do think so. i would just stop thinking about hasselbeck.

I'd be thrilled to get Hasselback, but like others, I see no way a team like Seattle lets their starting QB go...why would they? If they have cap problems, resigning a starting QB actually helps because you give him a huge bonus and a small salary for a few years.
It'd be different if they had a young QB pushing for playing time....what would be the reason for letting him go?
Even if a new coach didn't like him, why cut him? for what? who's he going to start next year?

They must have had 5 or 6 legitimate drops today. And that's nothing unusual, they have to have the worst hands of any WR corps in the league. His completion percentage is more a product of their incompetence than anything he's doing.

I think they have to pay him that average or give him some percentage in raise. His salary might have to go up by 200% or be in the average of the top 5. I can't remember the specifics, but it'll cost them a big chunk of change to do it if they can't get him to agree to a long term contract. And they have something like 7 major players hitting free agency this year. Combine that with Holmgren likely being out, and Hasselbeck might be able to get himself out of there.

Hasselback looked good today.
FYI-on throwing downfield and pure arm strength--he finished close to last in the QB challenge in the summer on longest pass. He threw the ball about 50 yards...the best were throwing it in the low to mid 60s.
But Hasselback is very mobile, smart and accurate. I would definitelt want him here.

He didn't look to have a weak arm in terms of getting good velocity on his mid range stuff. If he can put plenty of air under the ball and throw it with accuracy he really won't need to throw 50 in the air too often. Most long passes, even bombs, are thrown less than 50 yards in the air. If you can get the ball 35 - 40 yards downfield and hit the WR in stride you're in great shape.

Everyone torched us downfield...
But I still wouldn't mind seeing him behind center next year.

If Hasselbeck goes anywhere, it will be Green Bay.
