they purposely made the main character come off as dumb, which is not the case in real life. Why would he agree to let them make him come off as an idiot? Of course it's done for dramatic effect - it's retarded.
haven't seen it, don't wanna see it
lame *** ****.

I saw it, thought it was good for what it was, which was very cliche.
But at the end of the day, I go to the movies to be entertained and to watch an interesting story and The Blindside did a good job of doing it.

He probably didn't have any say so in how the movie is made.
Besides, when he first met the Tuohy's, his grades, along with his life were in really bad shape.
Also, during the movie, they did show him improving in the classroom.

You make a comment saying they make the character come off as dumb...and then you admit you haven't seen the movie....
THAT is dumb.
The movie was well done, and by no means is unflattering to Michael Oher.
I wasn't expecting much from it, but it far exceeded my expectations. The audience was numb with emotion during the final credits. It was a terrific experience. Not one of my all time favorites, but it was memorable.

Well I'd say you got some bad information then. The movie clearly portrays him differently. They go as far as to clearly state the opposite, in fact. He had a learning disability, he wasn't dumb.
My sisters best friend is a big time Ole Miss supporter/booster, and went to school with the woman that took in Oher. She's even had the pleasure of meeting the man on several occasions. She knows them well enough that I'll take her word for it that the movie was pretty accurate. FWIW.

Good movie, and went right along with Michael Lewis' outstanding book.
They didn't make Oher look dumb. Spoke the truth about his grades and made it clear that no one had ever really taken an interest in him and worked with him before. When they did, he blossomed.
Sandra Bullock should at the very least be nominated for an Oscar.
