mods if this needs to be place in the NFL zone please do.
I saw this on the Espn ticker that Adam Shcefter twittered that Cowher is itching to get back into coaching next year and the Bucs are very interesting in his services. Did anyone else see this or is Schefter just speculating as usual? Just wondering.
How good is Schefter? Just curious. I know he supposedly has been holdiing out for Carolina, but I just don't see how they would give up Fox. That guy has to be one of the top 5 coaches in the league dealing with all the injuries he always has to.
I wonder how Cowher would be remember had he not one that one Superbowl? Its amazing how one win in a team game can catapult status (i.e. Cowher vs say a Marv Levy)
Not saying he's not a good/great coach...although they really haven't lost a step without him.

If Carolina lets go of Fox, Dallas should give him a call.

Interesting that the Bucs would dump their new young coach after only one year. I understand that it's Cowher, but still.

Cowher putting it out there as leverage against Carolina? Division rival and all?

I went to ESPN.com and there is a story on it by both Schefter and Mortensen. Just FYI.

I know a lot of people hammer Wade and I'm one of them. But after listening to Tony Dungy and Bill Cowher, I'm starting to think coaching may be overrated. I honestly have no idea how either of them won a Super Bowl.

You may be right. A lot of successful coaches have been with their team for awhile. Either that or they have Peyton Manning.

But Bill Cowher did nothing, just like his successor. They're just cheerleaders.

I really think Coaching sometimes gets too much credit and blame. Dungy's understudy is having the best regular season the Colts have ever had. Tomlin won a Superbowl 2?? years after Cowher left, and Cowher arguable left the team in a decline phase. They lost defensive players, they were in cap trouble, they had trouble finding a RB.
Sometimes things just align for teams.

I think we would have a more mentally tough team with Cowher then we do with Wade. Outside of that I do not see much of an advantage. Though that would not be a small one I think.
